Is there anyway to lower GPU temp? I have a Vaio Z series with a 9300m GS GPU and it idles at 69 C and goes up to 85 C at full load.

mx-2, thermal pads, cold air, clean ur vents, n0s, fan, copper mod...

There are many ways, but they require you to get into it.

Yes, but not extreme. Notebook gpus can get up to 100c and anything above that, you should really do something.

But yeah, if you have had it for awhile, the vents may have gotten clogged with dust. If that doesnt help, then maybe try a notebook cooler and some thermal paste.

Also, make sure youre not leaving it running on a cloth surface, which Im sure you may be aware of. Just try to keep it on a cool surface.

Edit: My temps with the 9400m are around 75c with intensive game running like fallout 3 or farcry2. And idles around 40c. The vents in the macbook arent really that great.

use rive tuner to underclock your gpu or search for the undervolting guide here. You will underclock the cpu. The latter shares a common heat pipe with the gpu. hence decreasing the temp of the cpu will decrease the temps of your laptop.

Yes the undervolting guide will help a great amount. applying ICD7 will lower your temps a little better than using AS5.............
