    Hello everyone

    I am using the MSI-GT628
    GTS160M = 9800MGTS rev.2

    and the QX9200 @ 2.9GHZ + GTS160M @ 700/2000/1800
    got a 3DMark06 score of 13627

    If i change it to FX3700 (GTX 280M)

    It should'nt get such high clocks

    Core 550/Mem1600/SP1375

    According to moral hazard
    the max overclocking for FX3700 is
    Core 571/Mem1888/SP1427

    and the 3DMark06 score and the gaming performance will be lower than GTS160M (oc)?

    gaming stable for 13627
    max for 14200

    The 280M will have much greater performance than the 160M. It has twice as many vertex and geometry shaders. It would be like going from a dual core processor to a quad core processor.

    I'd say so. The GTX280M uses a new architecture and should be quite a good improvement over the 9800MGTX. I'm guessing you have a notebook with an upgradeable graphics card and have already verified the GTX280M will fit and have enough power.

    I can't agree with You.

    GTX280M uses G92b core, so there is no architectural improvement here. The only difference between the two cards mentioned above is the shader count (64 vs 128). Otherwise, both dies have been made using 55nm technology, they both have 256-bit GDDR3 memory bus, 16ROPs etc.
