I am in need of a new laptop. id like to know what GPU's can handle CS 1.6 at 100fps constant like i get on my desktop. I cant have random drops and stuff, i need higher fps for this game, i could care less about new games, because they all pretty much suck.

any fps over 30 is basically wasted, since the human eye sees 30...also USA (region 1 DVDs) use NTSC which is a 29.97fps standard.

having said that...i run everything maxed (cs 1.6) at 75fps or so on my Asus Z70VA. perfect in everyway.

your actually quite wrong, its been proven that while humans can only see so many frams per second, the actualy increase of frames per second in movies and games, does give an increase. The links below will prove you wrong. Ive been playing CS for 6 yrs and play professionaly. Telling me that there is no difference in play from 40 fps to 99-100fps, is crazy and you have no experience with the game, or at least none that is worthy to mention.

Anything with an x700 or Go6600 or higher should fit your needs, if paired with a decent CPU and amount of RAM.

i stand corrected, but is it necessary to say..

this is a friendly environment, keep your childish comments to yourself.

im am just about 95% sure that he will not be playing CS professionally. also, for most people having 100fps to play a game on a laptop is simply overkill. i do not game that much on my laptop (only when i have to)..when i game, it is at home..see my specs in sig. and IMO for CS 1.6, it isnt necessary to have 100 fps. i have never seen any big advantages from a system that is overkill for cs 1.6. the game isnt graphically intensive at all, since it is very old.

30FPS is the minimum I consider playable. 100FPS is both unnecessary and useless. 60FPS is gravy.

    That's right.

Even an X300 is fine for 1.6, although I would get at least an X600 just in case you want to play other games.

Just out of curiousity, when did playing a video game professionally become something to brag about??! I always thought that was the kind of think people kept quiet about :/

Yeah, I have everyone convinced I NEVER go on my computer!!

Some people acturally play as a profession, they earn money by entering various sponsored 'offical' tournaments. That being said I'm sure not one of them, but a quick reference you can find from this 'fatality1' guy (pardon for spelling) that signed a deal with Creative to promote his 'approved' gaming mouse etc.

But then again I thought professional gamers would already know what hardware they need to do the job. No offence to anyone but its like a navy seal asking what gun he should bring on a mission.

there is a pretty decent following behind professional gaming. although not many people know about it, you would be very surprised by how many people there are.

also, that guy fatal!ty or whatever his name is, he makes a lot of money ..having fun..so its not a horrible job.

CS 1.6 is very easy for any modern GPU to handle.

If your card meets the game requirements, you can play, simple as that.

ok, cool the fps very interesting, but the fact a person just come out of nowhere trying to be right and saying i am a profesional gamer, who[edited by moderator] cares just try to be mature and respect others, so we can understand u and fallow you better, the only way i ma being playing professional games is that they pay me 5,000 a month to play them, the minus or else is just a waste of my time, i am out, very interesting the fps though.
