Honestly a good thing... XWing and TIE Fighter are so good they are worth a playthrough from the newbie gamers too.

Those first few TIE Fighter missions are great. No shields.
The typical "stand in ick" WoW-ite will be crying within minutes.

How long before it goes on sale? I have like $50 worth of games in my basket at GOG and that just seems too much for GoG. Usually it's $20 or less. :p

If you guys enjoy the likes of TIE Fighter then I highly recommend checking out Freespace 2. I don't think it was too well known back in the day, and certainly even more obscure now, but the gameplay was awesome, and the graphics amazing for its time. There's also a huge modding community that continued to carry on its legacy (and arguably made the original game even better) after Voloition and THQ folded.

Fun fact: the game came in at an outrageous 2GB at launch in 1999. To put that in perspective it would be the modern equivalent of a 200GB game.

I wouldn't expect more than a 50% sale by Christmas, maybe closer to 20% due to the popularity and short time it's been released. I only bought TIE Fighter for now, but I'll probably buy X-Wing, KotOR, and Indy on sale since I already have one of them on Steam and the other two are just curiosities.

Freespace 2 was my favorite. Still is an excellent game. I would also recommend Freespace Open Installer: FSOInstaller.com

Adds to the game immensely bringing it up to today's standards (to a point)

Yeah well, I caved. I got X-wing and Tie-Fighter. I forgot how dated the graphics are, lol.

Now just bring us X-wing vs Tie-Fighter. It would be great if they remade that game... but did it right.

GOG has a wishlist they use to gauge which games to make a priority and it looks like Rogue Squadron has relatively fewer votes compared to other LA titles. Assuming it's one of the 20+ titles they'll release, the main factor on it being released sooner rather than later is the difficulty in making all the planned games compatible for supported Windows platforms. Also, they usually only release oldies on Thursdays while releasing new games on Tuesdays each week.
