That's my current mode, but for different reasons...I'm slightly concerned about build issues on a brand new Alienware...seems they've had some issues...Sony probably has similar issues but since they don't typically cater to the enthusiast crowd, the Sony users don't seem to be as righteously indignant with each model redesign/refresh...

But that tax return is burning a hole in my pocket, and if I don't decide soon, I'll just end up with lots of Melting Pot receipts...

That may be the case, but I guess that assumes the 1201N and M11x are competing for the same market, which I'm sure isn't entirely the case.

The 1201N is marketed as a highly portable netbook with significantly multimedia and productivity capability to average home users, whereas the M11x is specifically targeted at gamers. It's just that the 1201N's parts are significantly more powerful than those of most netbooks, allowing for some moderate gaming.

It won't be long before a truckload of NBR members gets their hands on it, it's a very popular laptop, more popular than even the M17x.

Melting Pot is good, fondu at home is even better. Leave the $100+ dates to Ruth Chris :D

I'm without a gaming rig myself, but with my own tax return coming my way, a PS3 would fit the bill...

Expect to pay more than $1000. Plus the low voltage i5 has 18W TDP iirc, and SU7300 has 10W, so you know the implications there, not to mention chipset. Who knows what Alienware will bring in the future. All I know is that I'm happy spending ~$800 for a decent compact laptop that can game. I think people are unfairly judging the SU7300.

That Vaio Z is a nice laptop, but it's waaaay too expensive. Sure it's sleek and sexy, thin, light, and powerful, but it's price tag is way beyond my means.

Yep, will post you some results here shortly...

And just for the record, I'm sitting here upgrading my girlfriends HP Tablet to Windows 7, and this thing sounds like a leaf blower! Sheesh! I've got my m11x sitting beside it, and it's silent compared to this thing ha... The fan noise issues are WAY over played that people are claiming the m11x has.
