    Hello All,

I purchased a Dell XPS M1530 nearly a year ago and gaming wise its less than impressive. Overall games lag big time. I tried Medal of Honor Airborne and the games on max settings is running horrible and freezes up like crazy. I know it is an old game, but I'm very surprised how poorly it runs. Does anyone have suggestions or anything I can do to improve my gaming experience. I installed Dox 180.70 to update my drivers on the Graphics card. I tried to overclock it and it doesn't work. When I try to change the Core Clock it says "The changes made were invalid and will not be applied". However, the memory clock I can change and it doesn't give me that message, its only with the core clock. Suggestions?

    My specs are as follow:

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7500 @ 2.20 Ghz
    3 GB Ram
    Vista 32 bit
    GeForce 8600M GT 256 mb
    Hard Drive 220 GB

    Performance Score on Vista:

    Processor 5.1
    Memory (RAM) 4.8
    Graphics 5.9
    Gaming Graphics 5.5
    Primary hard disk 5.2

    Overall 4.8

    Thanks again,

    Mark

MOHA is not an old game. It came out last year I believe. You need to dial down the graphics settings and play at lower resolution, like around 1280x800. If you want to play newer games at max settings at hi-res you need a WAY better laptop. Overclocking will only give you maybe 10% better performance.

It's a pretty solid mid-range system, but you're going to be hard pressed to find newer games that will run on max settings. Dial the settings down a little, and you should be okay.

MOH: airborne isn't that old. It's built on the Unreal Engine 3, and is pretty taxing on your system, don't expect it to run smoothly maxed out. Your notebook has a card that was considered midrange about 2 years ago, that doesn't mean it isn't decent for gaming, but don't expect to max out any recent game with a respectable resolution with it.
