15 707 on stock settings and driver with qx9300 and 280m gtx
10,303 vantage stock drivers ETC
ill try to keep it updated as more people start benching
the qx9300 can be clocked higher then a 3.2 ghz whooo
they have unlocked multipliers and you can adjust FSB!!!

Cool clock it to 4.0gHz and tell us how it goes
Impressive for a stock system, i like it -
man i really can't wait to get my hands on one.

What is the Vantage gpu score instead of the total score, so we take out the cpu factor as we know you can clock the cpu way higher.
-
Congratulations.....
can you post good old 3DMark06 score -
Yes plz do post i wanna see how powerful this thing compares to my measly 3,850 3DMark06 score........
-
Not as powerful as I would have expected...
Overclock the *ban_hammer* out of it will you, Mr.Bovine? (Choose Mr.Bovine

He did
15 707
First thing in his post. -
Awesome MR Moo, would appreciate some temps along with that, and dont push it too hard, you just got it hehe.
Is the multiplier modifiable within warrenty?
I think this could go for over 18k with 3dmark 06 fully tweaked and pushed!
Cheers Mr.M -
Oh I thought it's vantage score

3dmark06 is not a valid benchmark at all on these high end systems, its no different than wprime, aka a cpu test.
the cards can run 25k 3dmark06 probably but the cpu is holding it back, since he can clock his cpu very high he can get 20k or so if he managed 4ghz OC.
Vantage is the only one you should pay mind too if you want a real benchmark number that means something in relation to real performance of the machine. -

Vantage he said is 10,303 but he didnt say his individual score for cpu & gpu and thats what we need to know to evaluate the performance of the gpu.
As we already know where the cpu stands and it effects the total bench number so you want to take it out the the equation.
Mr. Moo you should know better than to post scores like that after hanging out in the W90 lounge, we need numbers and screen shots. -
Yeah thats true, i really hope it can kick out alot more, 4ghz on the CPU would be great, lets hope they have no ram issues hehe.
-
Dang and that is no sli?

I think w/ SLI last I checked you only had 3 loadout options on the m17x
Single 260, dual 260 or dual 280, there was no single 280 option. I looked
it it was not nearly $1000 more for this machine than my W90 I was considering getting it.
Still gotta wait for some Sager 9850 owners to get in the mix too. Its an identical machine in almost every way on the inside as far as specs, just a bigger laptop (that means bigger screen, extra hard drive slot, and maybe better cooling/speakers though) -
Yeah, I knew there were only 2 280s to configure.
But he didnt say 2x280s, but just said qx9300 and gtx280
;x -
Heh Moo's just real excited and forgot to make it clear those aren't his scores they're Vandit's.

It could probably go higher with newer drivers. -
good point this isn't mine lol
.... but if it was i would tweak it ans be over 16k by now
-
He wouldn't be able to get that Vantage score with just one 280M.

Great system Mr. Moo, don't if you could post your 3DMark06's SM2.0 and HDR/SM3.0 scores? Would like to access the GPU's individual score though. Maybe you can also try to run a Crysis bench test for us? Preferably testing of games would be better than synthetic benchmarks.
I'm trying to do some research on the GTX 280M in SLI, you're one the first so I thought maybe well, a little request.
Thanks!
Also, I'm trying to take a good clue if there was any real performance increase from the 8800M GTX SLI I'm having. Just GPUs. I'm trying to guess if our theories are right. -
I think if you all want to see the benchmarks then you should watch the Alienware forum for when they get posted. ;þ
-
well i figure you would assume there was 2 .... because of the score
-
yea this was more of a heads up since alot of people were wondering about the scores.
i will have my system in the next shipment im ordering tommorw
not as high end as them

But hey, it's a good start.

SM2.0 and SM3.0 Scores are still drastically impacted by the CPU. I'd say 3DMark06 is more of a gaming benchmark, than a GPU bench mark.
