Hi Guys i Have a M18x with 7970m Crossfire and the latest drivers

but i find when iam running some games even when the FPS is low the card is not running at 100%

E.g. lastnight i was playing Chivalry : Medieval Warfare on 1440p

When i first load it up, it's running at 60fps card running at around 68% with 65c

then i see the game drop to 38fps card at 52% 62c temp

and then it will just go up and down between 38fps – 50 fps running at 52% – 62% and staying around 62c for both cards

i have tested the cards with bench mark, e.g. haven 4.0 and it will stay running 99% load

any idea why the card is doing this? and how to fix it?

    Thanks

    Hi!

1.Not very good the driver, especially new the game.
2.The game not support good CFX.
3.If the game request a strong processor, and there is CPU limit.
Heaven test use only vga,CPU not stressed.

Sounds like the beloved Enduro issue. Google it. Or look through this forum and you`ll find much information about it

Yeah looks like the drivers are not fully optimised to use 100% of the gpu, might be worth trying to game under 1, see if that might make the performance a bit more steady. Whilst new drivers are being developed.

I don't think there is any Enduro with the M18x with crossfire, I could be wrong though.

They have, unless you disable it. Alienware are the only ones where you can disable Enduro :)

On the other hand, we dudes at the M18x forum have pretty much settled that Enduro does not concern our laptops in any way..

Nope, no switchable graphics with Crossfire. This is likely due to badly optimized drivers/game
