I just got my first game for this machine, Call of Duty 2. It looks and runs great while plugged in but while on batteries it will not run smoothly on any decent size. My next game that I want to get is SWAT 4. Any idea if this will have any problems. Also, what is a game that will really test this system?

The reason it doesn't run well on battery is that everything on your notebook slows down while on battery. To avoid this-you can set your notebook's power profile to "always-on". This will let you game on battery, but beware-you won't be able to game for very long unplugged.

    System specs?

If you want to punish your computer and see just how well it performs, you can check out a tool called 3DMark.

The Quadro cards are CAD-optimized so sometimes there are compatibility issues with some games.

Most graphics cards will reduce their clocks on battery, and as a result, the performance of the graphics card will also decrease. It is done to increase bettery life. If the grpahics card is run at full clocks all the time, then it uses an imense amount of power, and will use up the battery very quickly.

So, in relation to your question, yes, most games, excpet those that require very very little graphical power will run slowly when you are using the battery. It is nothing to worry about.
