MAJOR PB error

any ideas on fixing it

 

Hm..Vista not letting PB do it's thing maybe. Do you have any firewalls enabled? maybe vista's UAC isn't letting PB work and it also doesn't ask you if it should...

I run the game as admin, so it asks for it to run... So your thinking maybe i should turn UAC off and give it a whirl? Ive just noticed with it off... my computer is slower, and i get worse performance.

 

were you having this problem before? if not then try updating PB.

But if you've always had this problem then it's probably some firewall not letting PB stuff going through.

 

had the same problem as you and caused me major frustrations. this is happening because punkbuster changed and added the A and B pnkbstr.exe apps running in your services... in order for me to get to work i had to manually uninstall all of punkbuster (which includes going into the registry for the hidden files) and removing everything.... after that it worked perfect

you can find my thread on totalbf forums under bf2 support... it should be a sticky thread at the top of the forum - i had to talk to a EA rep to get an answer about this and he gave me thorough info in which i immediately put on that forum because so many people are having this problem... it has helped many people and i hope it will resolve your issue.

if you cannot find the forum in which i am talking about in totalbf, let me know and i'll try to find a copy of the instructions.. they are very detailed and you must follow each step carefully...
