I am on vista with a 2.4 MBP with the 8600GT and 2 gigs of ram and have tried everything. I used the bootcamp default drivers 101.XX and i used 169.01 and i used 169.09 and none of them would take my overclocking. I have tried ntune, atitool and rivatuner to no avail. I can move the sliders but i hit apply and the settings go back to the way they were before.....

Can someone help me out here?

It has worked before - but i just reinstalled Vista a couple of hours ago and have searched everywhere for my answer... and cant find any help on this.

PS: I ran it overclocked about 200 MHz last night on Crysis and it ran beautify and without any glitches so i know that the card is able to be overclocked....

    Anythoughts welcome!!
    Thanks!

I had the same problem, and here's how I fixed it: when you have everything up and running, unplug your adapter, and plug it back in. Now see if your overclock sticks (I use Rivatuner).

I tried that with the power adapter and it did the same thing, i would click apply (in rivatner) and it would look fine but i hit OK and i saw the slider go back to the original settings... i tried Ntune with the same result.

Im not using an external LCD or anything, so that is the only adapter i can think that you are referring to.. Thanks for the quick reply!
