Hi, is it possible to use the feature that monitors temperatures at real time outside of games?
    If so, how?
If not, is there another program that does that?

The thing is, I dont wanna mess with overcloking or anything, just want to monitor my CPU and GPU temperatures while doing other stuff.

    Thank you guys!

You can use Msi afterburner to do that. Under ''monitoring'' just set the option to show in tray as opposed to osd. You can have temps displayed in game and outside of games if you set to osd and tray. Hwmonitor is also a good one to use for a quick display of everything.

The overlay is applied using Direct3D hooks so it wouldn't work for regular desktop purposes but you can put color coded temps in your system tray.

There are apps that will show you those things on the desktop but I don't know of any that hook into DWM - you might find something with a bit of digging or maybe someone will point you in the right direction. Wish I could be more helpful. I use the tray method if I want to monitor things on the desktop and it works fine for me, the overlay would annoy me to be honest. I use it in games but if it was running in desktop mode on top of my apps I'd get annoyed.

Doesn't AIDA64 have such a display tool? I constantly see it in Mr. Fox's screens.

But why? I don't even monitor CPU/GPU temps after I figure out a stable setting in which thermal stress are no longer an issue. I set Nvidia Inspector to OC at bootup and don't even use Afterburner.

I live in a very warm country in room with no Air Conditioning and I edit videos and do some 3D modeling. All my previous PCs would eventualy get hot. I want to pin point what situation that causes the overheat.
