Hey, I just ordered an MSI GX630-028US:

Operating System Windows Vista Home Premium
CPU Type AMD Athlon X2 QL-62(2.0GHz)
    Screen 15.4" WXGA
    Memory Size 4GB DDR2
    Hard Disk 250GB
    Optical Drive DVD Super Multi
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT DDR3
    Video Memory 512MB

I would like to know if I am able to play Crysis on somewhat High settings (not ultra High)

1280x800 at medium is more realistically playable, especially later in the game where it snows.

I'm not positive but Far Cry 2 should run on medium/high settings at a reasonable resolution, around 1280x1024.

Yes, FC2 isn't really that demanding as compared to Crysis. I can get on all High settings easily and at a resolution of 1280x800 @ around 30 - 50 FPS if I OC'ed my 8600M GT DDR2 - Gets about 65*C max after playing for 5 hours straight.

You can try OCin'g your 9600M GT GDDR3 GPU, play Crysis/FC2 for a few hours and monitor its temps; this one way to get to know your notebook's maximum heat control and the chance for you to monitor it thoroughly. In fact in my tests on other notebooks I did today, I believe 9600M GT GDDR3 stocks are able to play it well enough at a decent resolution for FC2.

PS, congrats on your purchase of your MSI notebook.

Thanks for the response. So I won't be able to play Farcry 2 on highest settings? I saw a couple vids where the person had the same video card as me and was able to play Crysis on farely high settings (AA off, Shadow medium) and FarCry 2 on Highest settings.

Have you even tried playing it on Ultra High/Very High yet to see how it fares? :p

If he has the same video card I'm sure yours can. Just give it a try. My 8600M DDR2 can handle at medium/high, I'm sure your GDDR3 9600M can easily achieve it.
