okay i want your opinion regarding these 3 laptops. i could spend a lot more on a laptop but i made a lot of research and saw that these laptops can cover my gaming needs for the next 2 years at least, i dont care about super graphics, medium is fine i guess, i just want flawless gameplay with full fps for all the upcoming titles BF3/ GW2/ Skyrim etc etc.

    - How futureproof are these machines?
    - How good is the service on each machine?
-Which one do you recommend me and why?

The systems are MSI GX660R :

    CPU Intel i7-720QM (1.6 GHz)
    Graphics chipset ATI HD5870
    RAM 6 GB
    Screen 15 inches
    1920 x 1080 pixels
    Hard drive 2 x 320 GB (RAID 0)

My thoughts here, will the cpu be a bottleneck in 1-2 years or will be good? Since i am an engineer student i may be using AutoCAD. As far as I know MSI are among the best gaming laptops, and they are optimized by manufacture to perform better. I think this is my 1st priority and i can find it around 780 pounds i think.

    Clevo Optimus 15.1

    CPU Intel I7- 7630 (2.00)GHz
    Nvidia GT 555m
    8gb ram
    500gb 7200 rpm

THis will be bought from pcspecialists.co.uk which is considered the best clevo reseller in the uK. the price will be around 700 pounds. my thoughts here is the bad graphic card. The rest are very strong. this is my 2nd choice. An overclocked gt555 can perform good as well i think.

    HP Envy 17.1
    Intel® Core™ i7-720QM processor
    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium
    Memory: 4GB
    Hard drive: 500GB
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5850

i Found this laptop recently on sales, from different shops having a 46% discount from 1200 pounds almost to 699. i dunno if i will find it anywhere else in the next couple of weeks. my drawbacks is here is that the laptop is hp. i really heard bad things about hp and their service so this is a big minus. the price is very positive. this is my 3rd choice. but yeah if i dont find it in sales, ( i am laughing.. give me a break 1200 pounds for this machine! with 1200 i can setup a clevo with 6990 etc)

Anyway. what do you guys think! enlighten me with your knowledge

If you have to buy now...

Get the HP Envy. If will play Skyrim and GW2 fine. BF3 you'll have to fiddle with settings but should play fine.

But really I'd wait until the next gen with Intel Ivy Bridge, AMD 7xxx/Nvidia 6xx are out. That's what I would do at least.

If you buy now, you're potentially looking at your notebook being severely outdated in a few months when the new hardware are released. Ivy Bridge supposed to be much faster than Sandy Bridge and much much better than the i7 720QM. And the 28nm Nvidia/AMD are supposed to be nice leap in performance from current and much better than the 58xx series.

But if you buy now, get the HP. Best price, looks great, the 720Qm is excellent and so is the 5850M.

I recommend the MSI GX660r, it packs a decent punch, cooling is great and later down the road you can upgrade to i7 920xm along with throttlestop to have a powerful CPU at your disposal.

Accesability for upgrades is easy with a single big panel for most components. You can upgrade your GPU later too as many users have already.

Dual HDDs bays are always a plus
