The Intel-based notebook will probably be a hair faster, and the 17" screen will be more suitable for doing work in Adobe. 1280x800 is really limiting.

The only reason im saying the intel one is because the screen, as pulp said, is better for adobe work.

The C2D WILL be faster than the Turion, though, that's a crucial point to make. I've used both with a frequency spread wider than this one and the C2D consistently smashed the Turion.

How much faster? Will it actually be noticeable?

Or do you mean for specialist work like the OP was talking about, like imaging and video editing?

I like the GX series because its the only laptop at that price range that has the 9600M GT, which, as I said, is an awesome GPU for that price range.

I'm looking at the GX630 only to play current games like C&C3:KW and slightly older games like BF2 and Halo.

And I'm looking at the 15.4" version because I value portability over resolution.

So, is the Turion suitable for those purposes?

EDIT: Oh, thread is a few months old, sorry, didn't realize until after I posted. Hope its ok. Found this thread through google.

    Thanks
