Hey I have a gt683-694UK I've been wanting to upgrade it so far all I've done is doubled the ram to 16gb ddr3 and I have added a 1tb harddrive. The CPU ill be upgrading with is i7-2860qm G2, I was also planning to swap the 700gb hhd for an ssd 256gb.
Okay so with the SSD if I wanted games to load faster /better would they have to be saved on the SSD or will the SSD make the 1tb faster some how (I don't know how they work)
Also I was wandering what graphics card I could upgrade to.
    Thank you

I am completely unsure as to what you're asking.

Do you have or do you want to buy a i7-2860qm?
SSD will not make HDD's faster. You can put games on your SSD BUT it will only make loadingtimes faster, the actual performance is the same.
Without a budget and what you are/want (to be) playing noone can recommend a graphicscard.

    I'm going to buy the i7-2860qm G2

Okay I wasn't quite sure, since people said it made things like 5 times faster and I wasn't sure if it played any effect to the other HDD via like drives or something thank you. So if I don't mind waiting there's no point in upgrading since overall it doesn't make much difference?

For the graphics card I just want to upgrade it currently to future proof myself, just incase I want to play a game, budget wise I don't mind buying of eBay so they'll differ the budget allot my guess below 200 on eBay
A game I have been looking at tho to play is nier automata, also games like dark souls 3, GTA v

You probably have to buy from ebay anyways. Since buying MXM cards new is insanely expensive.

Also Just to be straight with you, I wouldn't really bother upgrading your notebook. Maybe get a new one instead. The issue with your notebook is that you need to upgrade way to much in order to have something decent out of it. Here are things you should upgrade:
    - LCD Panel, you have 736p panel, which really is bottom line´.
    - CPU instead of the QM, then rather a Core i7 2960XM it's overclockable and gives way more performance.
    - The maximum you can get from pure GPU power is a GTX 980M but this will require a lot of modding, not only heatsink but vbios flashing etc. So you would probably rather want to get a HD 7970M with a modded heatsink if you don't want headaches.
    - New PSU with at least 230Watts

In the end you'll spend so much money, that it's way easier to just buy a newer used MSI notebook instead of upgrading everything. It is only recommended to upgrade your notebook if you REALLY love it and refuse to get something different and don't mind spend a lot of money upgrading it.

The biggest issue here is not even the cost of upgrade but more that you do not have the experience to do proper mods to your notebook, meaning chances are you will brick your notebook. That's why in your case I'd highly recommend to save the money for a used system instead.

This system I got for £280 of eBay so I thought it would be much better to upgrade this one, I'm not a person who wants to buy a new one since I'm not wanting to play on ultra settings,
Thank you for being straight with me but also all I'm asking is what graphics card could I get that'll work in my laptop? I'm not looking for an insanely powerful laptop because to me this is very powerful I just want to improve it,
Just a list with graphic cards that would be a decent improvement and good without to much hassle, I'm a college student so I don't get much income either.

You can't just shove a new graphicscard into your system.

You need to get another power supply and mod your heatsink, also you probably need to flash your BIOS and vBios.

If you don't have proper Bios and/or vBios ur screen will be black.
if you don't mod ur heatsink you'll fry your system
if you don't get new power supply when having upgraded ur GPU, then u're at risk getting a shorted notebook, broken PSU and crashes, very low performance.

This is the bare minimum when upgrading your notebook with a new GPU. There is no "I buy a cheap notebook to slap a new GPU in it"-option. Doesn't exist.
