MW2 Care Package Glitch

This is probably the most annoying glitch in any game that I can think of. It really defeats the purpose of an FPS. The killstreak options are a little much IMO as is but with this glitch the game is ruined. I cannot go more than 3 matches without finding someone who is using this glitch with either a care package, or worse, the emergency care package. There are other problems, but this is by far the worst one of them all. I hereby declare that I will not log into MW2, or recommend this game to anyone, until this problem has been fixed.

I've never ran into this problem. Of course I haven't played the game in 2-3 weeks lol

 

After someone earns a care package there is a way to bug it and drop them an unlimited number of times. The entire match is nothing but air strikes, helicopters etc. As you know it's almost impossible to find cover on some maps and even if you do, people put the auto-turrets in strategic places and it ends up being one huge mess for the team without glitchers. I lost a domination match because my team was only glitching and raising their kills.

This has only been a recent problem. Started about a week ago it seems. Maybe earlier, but not really a big problem until the last couple of days.

 

Interesting, I wonder why it started only recently? What changed to enable this issue?

 

Nothing changed that I know of. Maybe it's a recent discovery or maybe it just started spreading to the majority of players. I don't keep up with the glitches as I don't suck at these games so I don't know what has prompted this.

 

The latest patch is supposed to have fixed this, the version is 1.0.80 now i think. The patch is done through steam when you load up mw2.

ps no dedicated servers is horrible. but fun game. bah

 

For a second there I thought you were talking about the speed-sprinting enabled by holding the package marker...they patched that out a week ago.

I haven't seen this new infinite package glitch, and I hope I don't.

 

Maybe I have posted this in the wrong place. I don't have a laptop yet (see my sig) so I have only been able to play this on my xbox right now. I just assumed that if they would have this issue on one version then it would be an issue on the others. If they fixed the PC version then they should fix the xbox version. What's the hold-up?

 

Different exploits for different systems, I suppose. I remember hearing about the Xbox 360 infinite ammo exploit involving a memory card...as far as I know, nothing like that ever happened on the PC version. However, some glitches (like the Javelin self-destructing) were common to all platforms.

I think we're thinking of a different glitch.

 

Yes the glitch was fixed a week ago but they found another one. On consoles at least you hold your care package go to something you have to press x to jump over hit -> twice and you will still have your care package equipped and you throw it and once you use the care package you get another one and repeat.

The old one involves the stun grenade and picking up a gun

 

Ah ive seen that one in youtube videos, doesnt look like its worth it though since it takes a while Havent seen many do that one either.

 

Actually its rather quick to do. Ive done it once just to see how it worked and i got 2 chopper gunners, an ac130 and a pavelow in 1 domination game. I went 72 - 6 - 11

 

on the PC?
