with the impending release of the map pack tomorrow heres a simple poll to see if its a yay or nay.
after the mass poll when MW2 was released about if you were boycotting buying the game due to the lack of dedicated servers, im wondering how many of you relented and decided to buy the game in the end and if so will you be adding the map pack to it as well.

I nay say'd MW2 before it released, but ended up getting it on Release day anyway. I don't regret it and I like playing it. I've already pre-purchased the Stimulus package as well.
-
I find this to be somewhat ridiculous.
For instance TF2 just had it's 119th update celebration and another major update is in the making with lots of new content, all of this free of charge, yet here ppl are expected to pay 15 euros for a couple of new maps.
You might want to take a look at the change log:
Team Fortress 2 - 119th Update!
I'd say they should at least lower the price a little -
They are trying to recoup all the losses they are going to get hit with when their asses get sued off
I hope Activision burns in a fire. They acted very foolishly to treat the devs of MW2 with such disrespect. They were the masterminds of a MAJOR blockbuster!
PS. Valve looks like one of the most exciting gaming companies to work for... seriously. -

Personally I feel that new maps are NOT going to add any more depth to the game. If the pack included new modes/ 4 player + co op/ new gadgets / and classic guns. Then maybe I would buy, but charging for several maps (compared to so many games with hundreds of free user created maps) is something I don't respect.

oh look, it's this thread again.

ill get my coat.
thanks for pointing the other thread out.
admin can you merge them. -
i also said i wasn't going to buy the game until dedicated servers where up, but i gave in and brought it,spent many hours playing it but im done with the game, i will not be spending any money on a map-pack, and as im running out of room on my hard-drive can see this being the next game to be uninstalled.

Yep I bought it... Even though I think they should be free, I don't mind paying $13.50 for 5 maps.
-
with the time i spend playing this game i don't mind spending the money... i pre ordered and will be playing these new ones when i can
-
lol dlc is ready to download but steam is overloaded, yeah nobody bought it
uhu
-
i'm not buying it for sure.. IMO , 10 pounds for 5 new maps is not worth it.. i rather save the moeny and get another game.
-
downloaded and played a few games in demolition. quite good maps.
only certain games available and no free for all with stimulas pack though. -
-
you can't make people pay 11 quid for maps. It's just wrong.
And then there's only two game modes you can play them on.... !? -
I've been playing the new maps, and I love them. The only one I'm not too fond of is Overgrown; I never really liked it as a CoD4 map either. Bailout is just fantastic.
Still, I've gotten my $13.49's worth of entertainment out of it. -

its sick, i know, but after a lot of though, MW2 is the best online shooter game right now for me.
i hated BC2... i don't know why.
if you have the best online game, you can charge a premium price. i bought the map pack. it sucks, but that's how it is. i wish there was another game that was better so i could say screw you activision, but they have the best stuff right now. maybe the IW dropouts will make a better game soon. -
So apparently you can only play certain gamemodes -- moshpit, hc moshpit -- with the new DLC??
If that is the case I will def. not buy it. -
i know for sure you cant play free for all with map pack.
so far last night it auto picks sabotage, demolition and deathmatch. will try some more tonight.
when you go to the games menu its not incorporated in the original game but found at the bottom of the list on the left. so you either chose your game as normal or click on stimulus which auto choses a game for you. -
I'm plenty content without the stimulus package for now. Maybe if the price drops a lot I'll get it, but I'm fine without it.
-
I bought it simply because i really like the game despite all the connection problems and other nonsensical obstacles that IW has created for the end-users. Why did i buy it, other than i like MW2, it cost me 14 canadian dollars - a pack of smokes is 11 bucks here and so is a movie ticket; meaning that i am provided with good value entertainment.
-
I like all the added maps thus far. Storm is a pretty cool map, but my favorite is Bailout so far. Crash is pretty cool too...overgrown is also nice. All in all, a good upgrade.

I just the map pack, I don't really like it though... Overgrown was a good map for CoD 4, but that's when you could go up to 32 v 32. 6 v 6 on Overgrown is not fun at all... I like all the other maps, not so much Bailout, but, at least it's something new.
-
They would be free if no one bought them, but it's people like those who are paying out for it right now why they're going to keep on charging. If you want them to be free, then don't buy it, and eventually they will be.
Things like IWnet, and charging $15 for a map pack while locking out the ability for modders to make custom maps are all tests from Activision to see if people will buy into it and just accept it, and it's looking quite positive for them. I wouldn't be surprised if their next map pack was $20-30 just to see how many people will buy it. -

No thanks. I already rid my machine of the scourge that is MW2.

I own MW2 on xbox, and I got the map pack with some spare MSP points I had on my account, and I also got the DLC for PC as well.
For those that want to play the new maps on specified game-modes, you're going to have to wait. If it's anything like the xbox release, the maps will only be playable for the first 1-2 weeks in the "mosh/random" stimulus game-modes before it will be widely available on specified game-modes.
I think it's to prevent what happened with WAW, if a player didn't have a map pack, they got kicked automatically. Also, I think there's a huge consensus from everyone that they just want to play the new maps only.
I actually enjoyed playing the random game modes, because before this, I only played GroundWar, TDM, and Domination. I never touched demolition, sabotage, search & destroy, or capture the flag before. Finally realized why prestiging gives you extra classes. I had to keep changing my classes to match the game modes. -
I wish the would of made the map integration schedule a little better known for us PC guys. Seriously most of us still aren't use to the DLC thing, in BFBC2, new maps come out and they are just there (you enter your CD key when you set up your account so no worrying about used games so everyone pretty much just gets the maps). I mean I have no problem buying the DLC, I bought the boosters for BF2, but I mostly just play HC TDM and wonder where the heck are the maps I paid money to play.

yeah -stimulus and hardcore stimulus.
it just would be nice to know what's going on as far as that and integrating the maps into the main game modes. whatever it is they are doing or planning, it would be nice to be informed vs having to guess. -
Apparently they've already been integrated into the Xbox 360 "normal" playlists, so I assume it can't be too far away for the PC version either. I can't wait; the Stimulus gametype rotations are crap. DOMINATION HQ DOMINATION HQ CTF S&D DOMINATION HQ FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU

and here we go again,already.
second map pack announced for a release after june 2010 HERE -
