MW2 Won't Load

Hey guys,

My CoD MW2 won't load. I was playing in the afternoon yesterday, but when I turned on my computer at night, the game gets stuck on the loading screen. Here's the error message I get

I tried uninstalling, updating DirectX 11, updating video drivers, then reinstalling, but I get the same problem. Single player and Spec Ops work fine.

Please help!

 

I would check for steam updates and manually restart the steam application with or without updates. Also check MW2 file's integrity by going into the game's properties and click on the local files tab.

I had a similar problem with battlefield 2 bad company (steam).

 

I manually started Steam, and ran the validation check. It says game is 100% valid. And I'm not banned either.

 

Try the official MW2 forums. You will likely get much more help there.

 

This is the error message I get when I tried to run in Safe Mode. Is this because DirectX is not active in Safe Mode?

 

MW2 is a DX9 game, try and download the complete DX package.

here is a possibly solution:

24. MW2 WIN_DIRECTX_INIT_BODY - "DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error."

1. Right click on the desktop and choose "Preferences"
2. Select the "Options" tab
3. Click on the "Advanced" button
4. Choose the "Troubleshooting" tab
5. Lower the "Hardware acceleration" bar to "None"
6. Untick the selection box for "Activate combine writing"
7. Press "OK" and restart the computer

What the process is doing after this; is that DXDIAG is setting the DXDIAG settings to null.
Now do the same process again as told above, all the 7 steps.

When you have restarted the computer for the second time, now you shouldn't have any problems.
