This topic is probably way overused by now, but I haven't yet seen a definite answer to this question:

I have Modern Warfare 2, but do not have an internet connection available on a regular basis. Is there any way to play co-op or multiplayer with my friends on a local network (who own their own legal copies of the game) without being logged into steam?

I know that there are cracks which allow the single-player to work offline, but that isn't what I'm looking for.

Please don't just do a search and send me a link, because I've checked most places already. If you don't have personal experience with a working patch, or proof that one cannot exist please don't respond.

I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I thought I'd take a last shot at it anyway. Hopefully whatever studio makes the next Call of Duty game will realize that no DRM eliminates piracy--it just makes things less pleasant for legitimate users...but that's tangential...

I apologize to the mods if this subject is taboo, or if I'm asking an illicit question.

    Thanks in advance!
