    Hi,

I have just bought a HD3650 MXM card on Ebay.
I installed it into the 8930G and works but has 2 problems.
One is that the fan does not turn on when the GPU gets hot so as a temporary solution I pulled off the blue fan cable so the fan is on all the time...
The other bigger problem is that the resolution is different on the lcd then the optimal. It seems to be 1600x1200 instead of 1980x1020 so the picture is not sharp of course.
I downloaded Power strip and it said that could not read the dcc info of the screen and for some reasons it does not support higher resolutions then 1600x1200 which is not true of course.
Is there a workaround for this?

Probably a silly question but did you completely uninstall your drivers and reinstall them after switching the card?

More than that I reinstalled Win 7.
Ati VBIOS editing is needed to solve this.

Is there anybody who could do this?

Yup sounds like Vbios. Have you tried flashing the Vbios from the Acer 6920G? I use to have this and converted my 9500GS to a 3650M back in the day and it worked perfectly. I would ask in the Acer Forum.

Which HD3650 you got there? If it's 512MB DDR2 I can search around here for my vBIOS.

Damn I miss my 6920G :( that thing got me through some great times playing World of Warcraft and Divine Divinity 2. I remember when I upgraded to the 4670M like you have as well my first upgrade, nearly shedding a tear ;)
