I've been using the 179 series notebook drivers from nvidia.com and have not run into any problems related to the driver that I know of when gaming. Been playing some cs:s, World in Conflict, and more recently Stalker which I have been trying to squeeze some more fps out of.
I have not run into any technical problems, but I am not sure if the performance is as good as it could be as im trying to get some more fps out of my games and the 179 series is still labeled as a Beta driver at nvidia.com . I hesitated to upgrade to the laptopvideo2go drivers because I heard that it lowered a certain individuals fps by 20 which turned me off pretty quick lol.
I was using the default bootcamp drivers prior to downloading these newer drivers but did not really have a chance to compare the performance of the two before upgrading.
What I am really after is boosting my frames per second during gaming and my question is...
What is the best driver for the 8600M GT (512mb) ?
I am a little hesitant about the laptopvideo2go drivers because of some bad feedback I heard, do you guys recommend the laptopvideo2go drivers?
Thanks a bunch everyone!I will try to post my specs in my sig
P.S. Sorry for posting my own thread! When i replied on the main 8600m gt thread it was not showing my post!![]()

I use the DOX modified nvidia drivers and generally I don't have any problems with them. Just follow the instructions if any and all should be well.

Also, do they perform well while playing games? I am trying to improve my fps if possible.
Thanks for the reply!
I'm also looking for any other recommendations that anyone has about a good driver for the 8600m gt -
Currently using DOX modified 182.46, you can find them on the laptopvideo2go forum.
As for performance I've yet to see a better driver than this one for my system. Some don't like it since it doesn't mesh well with certain recently released games though. -
Try the 185 series.. These scream!!!
