Ok so after a lot of searching, and a bit of trial and error to find a way to get my macbook pro's 9600m gt (256mb ddr3) overclocked as close to 9700m gt speeds as i could - 623/1548/808 c/s/m in rivatuner 2.24.
Im using dox 185.68 forceware in vista ultimate x86. I was stoked to get it oc'd via drivers, as i wasnt about to go flashing the bios. I also have powermizer switch set to ac off. GPU temps increased only by a few degrees, with the fans set to permanantly fast before and after. They're only set this way because the fan control leaves little to be desired in vista. If someone could point me in the direction of a good fan control utill that works with vista and a macbook pro i'd be real happy.
Unfortunately i saved over the top of my results from standard bootcamp 2.1 nvidia driver so i cant compare there.. It was lower, just not sure how much. But standard clockspeeds and dox 185.68 forceware i got 5883 3dmarks which was higher than ive seen others get with the same video card at standard speeds, so not sure how much the drivers helped there. After overclocking it i got 6656 3dmarks which i was more than happy with considering the minimal temperature increase, and no stability problems in games or in load tests. The temptation is there to see how much further i could clock it but the risks start to outweigh the benefits, and its normally when im greedy that things go pear shaped.![]()
Cheers
Luke

To load it up in a game I played crysis for a few hours, with everything high except shaders and shadows which were set to medium and in dx10 and it ran fine, but i'll probably go back to dx9 for the sake for a few fps as it dropped a tad low in heavy combat scenes...Temp peaked at 80c, which with the original drivers, or the new dox optimized unclocked were getting 76. Idle temps are 61ish which is more or less the same as it was originally. That hasnt produced any artifacts, no crashes, no errors so im sure it would be happy enough running faster but im not that comfortable running higher temps with a notebook that has a video card that cant just be replaced like a desktop. As tempting as it is, i had to remember that i only wanted a performance gain for a few games, not to squeeze every bit out of it.
