Surprised nobody brought up this game. I snagged it for $30 at GMG including first DLC.
Just getting started but so far it's an interesting romp but feels remarkably similar to the Batman games. Just different universe of course. Seems polished enough though. Seems WB doesn't have too short a memory and made a PC port that works.![]()

Waiting for reviews
Im playing fallout new vegas right now so similar genre -
It's available for 18$ at g2a.com. I am waiting for my pre-order retail edition to be delivered to my nearby store. Got it for 15$ btw.
-
Metacritic: 8.6 of 46 users
Steam: 96% positive of 3052 reviews
Critics seem to think it's a 6 or 7 out of 10 but users seem to really like it. I'll take user reviews over critics any day.
I don't know that it's a $60 game, but $30 I think it's worth it from what I've played so far. It's really a skinned Batman game I think but so far rather polished. -
i am getting occasional flickering in game on my 980M. i don't get similar issues in MGSV so it's definitely a game specific issue.
-
Bit off topic, but you seriously need a better CPU lol.. That 4700MQ is the only thing keeping you from maxing out your system.. -
Testing the 355.82 drivers.
Looking at the 4910MQ if I can find one for a reasonabke price.

So after you've played it for a while, how is it?
I watched a few gameplay videos, and at first they seemed kinda meh, but some later ones do seem like nice.
Considering the price point I might actually get it. So far, for me, it looks more attractive than MGS V.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
i haven't touched it since it is flickering got me worried it might be GPU problem (but it's really a game issue) so i will wait till a patch before continuing.
also, i find it strange that - being an Australian - they decided to use US voice actors, terminology and pronounciation when Mad Max is set in post apocalyptic Australia. It kinda ruins what made the original movies unique (even though it's not tied to any of the movies). the pronounication of 'Dinky Di' should be pronounced as "Dinky-Dee" not "Dinky-Die".
performance wise it's great: it can peak at 120fps if i cap it there but the temps go to 68 so capping it at 60 is fine. if i could bump it to 90 i would be ok too. -

Also, in the very beginning of the game, Max or Chum (don't remember who was it) did pronounce the dog food as "dinky dee."
Anyway, decided to buy it and my first impressions (about 2h of gameplay) are very positive.
Yes, it runs great. Then again it's set for the most part in a desert, so you get less action going in the background (like trees, grass, all that stuff) making it easier to render stuff. Nonetheless, again, it runs and looks great, so no complains there.
Surprised to see that Batman formula still works. I guess Rocksteady really nailed it, since this is a third IP which uses it. Heck, I might even grab SOM, even though I'm not a fan of LOTR. It works well within MM universe.
Post-apocalyptic setting also makes it my kind of game. I liked RAGE - gun play, car customization and battles were among my favorite components. Kinda wished Fallout was more like it. Two of those things are present here, and harpoon makes car battles even more cool.
As I heard it has a lot of stuff to do, and a map does look huge. Looking for resources (scraps, fuel, ammo, and water) is also a nice feature.
On negative side so far - jump is useless, would be nice to have a long range weapon like sniper rifle or a bow (dunno, maybe something like this exists later in-game), navigation keys in menus (U and I, seriously?), and would be nice to have secondary driving mappings (when not in combat I prefer to drive using arrow keys instead of WASD). Another small complain is that I keep skipping cut scenes by pressing W.
These are very small ones, actually just nitpicks, which I guess shows that as a game and port is a very solid one. We'll see how story goes.
Oh, almost forgot, sometimes mouse cursor remains on screen, have to hit Esc and go back for it to go away.
Overall very happy with the purchase. You get a pass this time, WB Games, but beware, I will be watching you!deadsmiley and HTWingNut like this. -
The mouse cursor staying on the screen annoys me in Elite: Dangerous as well. Under no circumstances a deal breaker, but jeez leave it off the screen if you know I'm using a controller.

So there is a sniper rifle in-game, though you can't take it with you, have to use it in the car. Chum can drive Magnus Opus while you have rifle mounted, that's a nice touch.
Also forgot to mention that there are a lot of various locations there you scavenge for stuff, they generally are well don and Max sometimes comments on things he sees or picks up - another nice touch. -
I've gotten the game. It's seems to be a good game, but I've gotten distracted by the Witcher 3. I'm playing the games with Nvidia beta driver 355.84 (it's not on the Nvidia site). I found them on http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=402122. I usually find the hot fix drivers there. The drivers are Nvidia developer drivers, I had no problems installing them and I find the games run smoothly with it. I've used them with the Witcher 3, Batman AK, and Mad Max no hiccups. (fingers crossed)
-
355.84 is a development driver not a beta driver or even a hotfix driver.
-
-
1-the website is where I usually found hot fix drivers. I never said 355.84 was a hot fix driver,
2-I did call 355.84 a development driver, and
3-SORRY, I called it a beta driver.
I was just trying to point out its another driver out in the wild. I'm trying it and it works. THAT ALL. -

Got it for €18 together with that pre-order DLC.
Can't wait to get back home to play some more! -
get used to right hand drive people!

The reason I bought MM was because I was pretty much finished with TW3 (until they release a patch that is), so I needed something until the first expansion story comes out.
Unfortunately DAI ended up being very boring and MGS V too expensive, but luckily MM was able to fill that void for me.HTWingNut likes this. -
You using keyboard/mouse or controller kk1?

TB's port report said it was find using both KB/M and controller so no need to fight over it LOL

Why does Steam have this game for 59USD, and it can be bought for under 20.

So yeah, been playing it some more, really enjoying it. Destroying enemy crap, upgrading stuff, and dreaming about that glorious V8.
One thing I don't quite get (story spoilers):
When you get to the second stronghold, you meet Hope, who is held up in a cage with her daughter. A couple of missions later you meet her at Pink Eye's place? How did she exactly get there? Or did those badies pillaged Gl...Gb...whatever his name is stronghold too and captured her? -
what's the deal with the 36mb patch?
-
Playing it quite a bit, and enjoying it. Game looks beautiful and runs amazing. Gets a little repetitive, but still enjoyable. Here are some pics from capture mode.

Finally got the sweet sweet V8!
Unfortunately it's kinda crap in early stages. Man, upgrading it will require a lot of scrap... -
Had a blast with the game though, I cleared most of the map, with the last few scraps being the things I skipped at the end.TomJGX likes this.
