The game is amazing even if you play it by yourself! The number of puns and pop culture make the game just amazing.... imo it is diffidently worth 8 bucks with the vietnam dlc

Yeah the game is a real gem! Extremely fun, but VERY hard when playing single player! And the Vietnam DLC is real fun!

My friend and I bought it last night and it's pretty fun even though it's hard. We couldn't survive the first wave of the Vietnam Survival map and he insists on using his gamepad despite the trouble he has aiming with it. Maybe once we improve and learn more of the magicks, we can last longer. The little I tried of single player just got me bored though so I don't think I'll be getting far into it on my own.

As fun as it is, they have literally only JUST finished ironing out some of the biggest problems/bugs, the game was so bad on release that they put out an update after they had fixed most of the problems that included an extra magick called 'Crash to Desktop' and a staff of bugs, at least they see the humour in everything :)

I'll give Magicka a run. Maybe we can do this one Friday instead of Starcraft? I'll do better and try to get myself on mumble. I just hate my voice and say stupid things (foot in mouth syndrome) that wish I hadn't.

Just installed it to play around a bit.

Might be the craziest game I've ever played. The freedom you have with the magic system is just nuts.

I even made some healing land mines. Awesome.

Ice, Arcane, Lightning, Shield and either another arcane or lightning for bonus range or damage is what I always use. Put it in your sword and swing away :3

Frost, Water, Shield, Arcane, Lightning, Frost. QREASR Then circle it around yourself or bang it on the sword. The frost and water combines to make icicles, and it's a max damage everything goes boom, gets electrocuted, slowed and frozen type majig. Plus you get your 5 element acheivement :)

question? Is your character supposed to walk slower when he has several elements queued up/ready to go?

    A good beam is:

    (lighting spell set)

    (qfasa)ar

The frost melts the steam and you have water and lightning in the same spell :D

oh good. I thought the game was lagging or something (it stutters at fullscreen 1600x900..so I'm just playing windowed 1280x720 and it runs fine).

Stupid vsync. I dun mind screen tearing unless it's horrific.

I havn't played it for a couple of weeks so my fail memory might be fail, but I think you hold shift then right click to put it on your sword, or hold shift and just do the spell to put it in a circle around you. Just don't forget not to walk into it until it explodes :p

Shift plus left click adds the spell to your weapon.

Shift plus right click casts the spell around you. Warning: Using another type of mine other than life mines could be dangerous..... and lead to lols all around.

everyone needs to try QRQRQRSE and load it to your weapon (Shift + Left Click) or set it as a sheild around you (Shift + Right click) if you set it as a shield DON'T MOVE or you WILL die. my favorite magicka to use in the whole game.

Well, I like this little Indie-game because of the Co-Op. The graphics are very charming, and it is very funny when you kill your own teammates with your spells xD ! Especially when you are voicechatting with them ;)

I can recommend it if you have someone to play it with.

I have no idea if this is the "official" Magicka thread here @nbr, but anyways

Anyhow I just thought today "I wonder if Magicka 2 is coming anytime soon" and I googled to find out. To my amaze the team behind Magicka have recently released a new DLC called "The stars are left".
It features more magics, more enemies and about 3 brand new chapters and 2 new challenges. YAY

So yeah, I am going to buy it on steam right now. I suggest you other Magicka fans get your wizards hats on and get ready for a new adventure in Midgard :D

Direct link to the DLC here. Cost around $8 @ steam
