well, i realized that in the ati 6.3 drivers with CCC my powerplay was not functioning. in fact, when i was running off battery it htought i was still plugged and remained on optimal performance, not optimal battery life.

so i backtrakced to 6.2 and am still experiencing the powerplay problem. i cant seem to get it to switch to optimal battery life under any circumstances

PS i installed both 6.2 and 6.3 using mobilemod

What gfx chip? The mod may have caused the problem, have you tried omega drivers or the older control panel? If your still having problems I'll try and get someone on the beta team to investigate.

I have an Acer 8204, so it is the x1600

Among the things I tried was using 6.2 with the old control panel. that didn't recognize either. however i wasn't going to use the old control panel, seeing as it didn't let me set the colors according to numbers, just slider bars

I assumed it probably had something to do with the mobilemod, but this is the only way currently to get 6.2 or 6.3 to run on my machine seeing as the x1600 is supported by a wopping total of Acer drivers (based off 6.1, which i will not be using).

i will try 6.3 with the control panel now i guess
