I need some help, I am having major problems with DXDIAG as it is not showing any information about my computer or graphics cards. I am including some screenshots hopefully someone can help. It looks like my windows vista operating system has somehow become corrupted. I am hoping there is some way to fix this (maybe purchasing a vista upgrade which will fix whatever is wrong by repairing the install etc). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Screenshots attached

    The computer is a T61p 14.1 sxga+ with a FX570 128mb card.

    THANKS!

    Was it regconised before?

Also have you tried reinstalling the drivers? You can try using the lateest drivers from laptopvideo2go.com with modded inf.

No I havent noticed it being recognized I installed Simcity Socities and it kept freezing...I will try the modded driver hopefully that fixes it, but I have a lot of other problems with Vista not recognizing my processors or hardware.....I am considering getting a Vista Upgrade CD so that windows can be re-installed and I do not lose all my data.

Perhaps the DirectX on your PC is corrupted? It's worth a reinstall to see if the problems go away.

how do I uninstall directx then re-install it? also if I get an anytime upgrade cd does it just add features on top of my current version of vista (business) or does it actually re-install the whole Operating System?

You can't uninstall DirectX so what you can do is go to Microsoft's website and download their latest version of DirectX and run the install on your PC. If some files were corrupted the fresh install should overwrite the bad files and give you a proper working system.

I've noticed you're using a quadro card, if you updated your graphics drivers from laptopvideo2go or elsewhere make sure you followed their instructions very carefully to avoid corrupt installations. If you still have the manufacturer CDs reinstalling your stock OEM graphics drivers may help.

i used to have the same problem twice with my Vista Ultimate, it just comes out of no where. there was a fix for it because my video/music would not play and the network icon would not appear either. the only real solution was to reformat.
