I have an asus 23" monitor that I want to run mw2 on. How can I make it run on that monitor while hooked up to my laptop? So far it only runs on my laptops screen

Usually there's a function key (like fn+F2) to toggle between displays. Or go into your nvidia control panel and select the "set up multiple displays" option and you should be able to tell it what you want to do with the external monitor.

Cant find a function key that does that. Nvidia control panel only gives me the option to state which is my primary monitor. Granted, the game will run in the primary monitor, I want my laptop to be my primary screen

Right click on desktop and then go to screen resolution.

Click on picture of external monitor. Select extend desktop to this monitor and then select make this my primary monitor. Then that will be the default.

Unfortunately, i havent been able to do that either, only eve online let me select which display i could use, so you'l just have to set the external as prime,

Another idea is, set external as prime, launch modern warfare then alt tab back to desktop, set laptop to prime and see if modern warfare sticks.

    Hope this helps.

Yea this is a tough one. I tried moving the launcher or even shortcut of the game to the external but still opened in the laptop screen.

Even so, if you do get this working, your keyboard will only control one or the other(unless there's a way to figure this out). So your maybe could play the game but wouldn't be able to do things on the laptop, only view it.

How about starting the game in a window and possibly moving it to the external and making it full screen there?

Then you will have to make a file that makes it a windowed game won't you?

I use it on extended display mode. Everything else I use so far transfers over fine. How would I make a game windowed mode by a file?

Well I know that GTA IV can be made windowed by a commandline.txt. I'm sure there are ways to do this in other games, you could just search.

yeah -w or -windowed sometimes cuts it, just google the game in windowed and see what the shortcut addon is.
