Ok, i keep reading threads about installing the drivers for the X3100, but I cannot find the steps. I have downloaded and extracted all the files, then I tell vista to update driver from the directory of the files, and it installs the old drivers. Can anyone tell me a better way of doing this?

You need to uninstall the old driver first. For some reason, OEM drivers apparently make the Intel drivers think it's not a X3100. Instead of using the "update driver" function, try installing directly from the driver executable.

The driver executable tells me that my chipset or something along those lines is not valid, or something stupid like that. Its a manual install, I just cant figure it out

Ok, this is what im doing.
1: Unzipping all the files from the driver package
2: Uninstalling my driver from my computer (causes me to get big icons)im also selecting to delete drivers upon uninstall
3: Telling windows vista I have the CD for the new drivers, and select that file
4: Check driver version once install is done, and it says 7.14
I dont know what im doing wrong here, anyone want to help?
