I see laptops with Go 7600s and 7950GTXs but not much in between.
Outside of Asus with the 7700 and the Dell 1705 with the 7900GS, are there any other manufacturers/resellers with high-end GPUs in between the 7600 and 7950GTX?
-
Arima has the 7900GS as well. So does Toshiba.
-
alienware offers a single and SLI config in some of there notebooks. but u are right i really dont see the 7700 go in any notebooks. its the same on the other side too. ati doesnt offer much as far as the x1700 or anything higher. but ati has fallen far behind nvidia as far as sales go.

Sager NP9890-7900GTX, and the Fujitsu Siemen Amilo XI 1546-x1800

I think i've seen some gateways with 7900gs. Don't know who the odm is though (could be arima)

I have a 7800GTX in my notebooks, its slightly faster than a stock 7900GS.
And my model [as well as some older model Clevo's] can have the standard 6800/6800 Ultra/7800 Go/7800 GTX etc...
Those falls in between the performance of a 7600 and a 7950GTX -
Most of the listed gpus aren't on the market anymore.
Present high end nVidia non-7950gtx gpu's are: 7900gs. The rest have been replaced. -
damn the 7800 gtx is 25mhz faster than the 7900gs, with 4 more Pixel shaders and 1 more vertex shader. ???? how much is the cost difference? ive never seen a 7800gtx in a notebook before, well beshides in gophn's rig.

before the 7900gtx it was available in dells xps-series

Actually you can still order Clevo notebooks [M570U and D900K] w/ the 7800GTX from RJtech.com
According to certain sites that still give that option [such as RJtech], the cost of a 7800GTX is $100 cheaper than the 7950GTX.
My 7800GTX was standard in this model notebook around the beginning of last year. I wanted a 24 pipe videocard and this was perfect. It gets a stock 3DMark06 score of at least 4000 [w/ basic dual core CPU] and up to a score close to 5000 with a faster CPU [for instance a 4800+ or FX-60].
Yup still right up there even after a year having it. -
-
Sorry, just had to razz ya there...
-
I know my notebook will last me for 2-3 more years easily... since it still games better than most of the current notebooks.
-
Thanks for the help. I (finally) made a decision.
-
the 7800GTX was the most popular card for a long time (especially in dells)
Cards (in order)
7950GTX
7900GTX
7800GTX
7900GS
7600GT (a Vaio only one i no of)
7700 (ASUS G1 and Lambo only so far)
7600
I think you'd be happy with the 7600 GT or 7700, if that's what your looking for. -
-
ur right sorry, i should have said only asus so far
btw what was ur choice? -
whose? mine? what choice? aaaw, you got me all confused...
Manuf. with high-end nVidia non-7950GTX mobile GPUs
