Hm, so I've been playing Mass Effect for the past week just fine. I have 20 hours playtime all on settings I haven't changed since install (1600x1200; ultra high; everything checked except grain). Then it randomly crashed one me last night. Now whenever I start the game I get an error message saying, "Failed to compile global shader FDOFAndBloomGatherFallbackPixelShader"
Any solutions? My laptop specs are on my signature.
Also, when I run dxdiag all DirectX features in the Display tab are "Not Available." Could this be an issue? If so, what can I do about it? I even get System Restore errors trying to restore to multiple different restore points.![]()

seems like a big dx error... my guess would be to reinstall latest dx. have you or anyone else capable of using your laptop installed new drivers? for me it's either a problem that could be repaired by reinstalling drivers or by reinstalling DX... but i'm no specialist here so maybe wait for other ideas.
cheers! -
Yeah, it's all good now. I did just that earlier today after searching around about it a bit more.
