Who else is looking forward to this game? So far the classes they've shown look amazing. Infiltrator can actually cloak now. Engineer gets a drone and vanguard can teleport right to an enemy for easy shotgun kills

I am. ME 1 is my all time favorite game. Sadly I just spent $60 on the Star Trek Online Digital Deluxe so I gotta hold off on ME2 now.
-
really lookin forward to ME2, cant wait lol, btw is that star trek mmo any good?
-
I can't wait until January 26th. Mass Effect is one of my favorite games - I hope Mass Effect 2 is even better.
-
But from all I've read yeah it's going to be awesome! -
I really should get both ME1 DLC and max out my save. I heard you get something extra for importing a level 60 character.
-
-
Looks like biotics will actually be useful now
-
Guess I should play ME through before the 26th.
-
Pretty easy to do. I beat it in about a week
-
Same here.
Crap ninja'd.
I also need to play the first one (for PC anyways). -
Ive beaten it three or four times, school starts tomorrow so I may not be able to in time.. whatever though.
-
Waiting for mah new laptop before I actually finish the first one. Just getting used to the gameplay and different classes for now. So far it's a great game. Can't wait for ME2~
-
-
They were useful but not particularly powerful. I played a vanguard and I always used my shotgun over my biotics. Throw warp and lift just weren't that helpful
-
-
-
There was also an odd glitch where whenever I used lift it would switch me to my assault rifle
-
I hope this time 'round they actually make it fun to play.
Not that I'm crazy about trolling in a fanboy droolfest thread, but come on - it tried to be an FPS (well, a 3PS), but shooting was boring, and the abilities were, as has been addressed, underwhelming. And driving was even worse. I looked forward to the role-playing bits just so I could move the story forward. And that wasn't because it was Bioware's most compelling story to date.
I'll buy ME2 if the reviews are good. I really wanted to like the first one, so I'm cautiously optimistic about the sequel -
Can't wait for this. No more lift loading times!
I beat the first one stupidly fast before xmas because I wanted to make sure I had enough time to get it done before the second.
Then again, with none of the additional side quests done it's pretty easy lol. I'll do those on the build up to ME2 to get me back into it -

I played through as purely Adept... The biotic powers do become quite strong around level 60... The singularity will pull multiple enemies together... the have the other squad members blast em or throw a grenade at them haha... the use throw, lift and warp a your own whims... trust me, the adept if leveled and played properly will play better at most times that a soldier will
-
Soldier is basically invulnerable though, especially if you give him a good defensive power for your extra power though mine had throw when I played it on my xbox.
I did my playthrough on the PC version with a customized class I threw together with throw/lift/ai hacking/shotguns/snipers and some other stuff. -
It's a shame that the biotic charge is limited to Vanguards.....
-
Vanguards wreck. Thats what I was in ME1. Though in all honestly would an adept really want to charge into the middle of a group of enemies without a shotgun or something?

I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. I have beaten the original ME 5 times, I beat it last month and have my perfect save game ready to go.
I have an utmost amount of respect for BioWare. -

I wonder what the minigame for things like hacking will be or if there even will be one, I didn't mind the minigame on the xbox version where it was just a simon says thing but I was pretty annoyed with the one they did on the PC version where it was that little spinny arrow frogger thing you have to guide with your WASD keys.

The only time I ever touched omni-gel was once when I had to repair my mako the first time I used it. Never had to repair it again lol

They've trimmed a lot of the RPG from Mass Effect:
-
-
If those changes are true, I'll be very disappointed..
-
A lot of it comes from this Q&A topic on the Bioware forums, and the rest was compiled from the Official Xbox Magazine review, and some recent interview. I post on a forum, where we compiled the full list I posted.
I'll provide links as I find them.
I should add:
- there's now ammo
- no grenades -
No grenades? Ammo? What's going on?!
This is not mass effect... -
Another thing:
You don't gain your XP during missions, instead it's tallied up and you receive it after the mission is over. So, no more gaining levels while in the middle of a mission. -

I will be rocking my Vanguard. I love ME, and I expect ME2 to be fantastic, also. I've read that they have streamlined combat, which is a plus because combat in ME could occasionally be a little funky in some situations. I've also read the audio engine is new and will not be dependent on an XFI for optimal sound.
I love Bioware games, and I am very much waiting for ME2. -
-
I also wanted to check out the claims about everything that is supposedly missing (finding items, etc.) but the Bioware website is totally down. I am doing the Digital Deluxe pre-order, myself. I already have the Dragon Armor from the DA:O DD pre-order. I'll tell you honestly, I only picked up ME in November when it was $10 on Steam. Out of everything I bought over the holidays - $70 for DA:O DD, $37 for Borderlands, and $20 for Torchlight, the $10 for ME was easily worth the money I spent on the other 3 put together (though Borderlands is incredibly fun and addictive in it's own right).
I can't believe I never played it before then. I just bought a new ultra-portable and made sure it had the HD 3200 in it (Tosh T115D). The first thing that got installed was ME. It works and I am pretty sure it will do ME2. That was a REQUIREMENT -
I just played it over the holidays. It's such a great game

I think BioWare realized that the original ME was a little more combat-dependent than they had intended (combat excitement plateaued pretty early in the game IMO, it was fun but not that engaging), but this one is taking it to almost full-on 3rd-person shooter levels.
As long as the story isn't sacrificed . . . that's all I ask. -
-
starting a vanguard char for the third time.
seems the vanguard is pretty popular? -
Alright so I just preorderd ME2 on steam, very excited as well. Heard a rumor somewhere you can 'import' a level 60 character for some extra perks or something? I might have to play through ME1 again if that's true
-
Choice quips from the PC Gamer UK review:
-
I'm excited for this game...I tried Dragon Age and I'm not really into it, hoping Bioware did it right with ME2 and it intrigues me more.
