Despite being so popular I never finished or got too heavily into ME, now I have an incentive to play it again.

Do you guys (Or gals) think that the saved games from the last game (They are saying to keep our saved game data from the first one) will have a big impact on ME2?

no need to fear, if you do not have ME1 saves then you can still play ME2. The only thing the ME1 saves are for is the characters (who is no longer alive and who is), whether you were good/evil, and some other stuff, in general yes it will have a large impact but you can still play the game.

Oh I have the game I was just wondering how big of an impact like certain characters that are there or not, or how people generally react to you based on your actions on the last game.

The video looks amazing for ME2. Regarding the save files on ME, it is still left to be known how exactly they will work for ME2.

It seems to be a certainty that how you dealt with Wrex at Virmire will make a difference in ME2, for example. Old romances will also matter, though you have the opportunity to make new ones too.

I've been following all things ME2 eagerly so far, and can't wait til Jan 2010.

Unfortunately that doesn't apply to the UK, for some reason we aren't allowed to buy it on Steam.

I just ordered the original Mass Effect because I have some free time now and I heard that it's absolutely amazing.

Plus I love Bioware, they made Baldurs Gate 2 and KOTOR. :D

I've just seen a compilation of all the "renegade" answers for ME1 and that was hilarious as hell but I can't still get myself to be a complete ... Anyway awesome trailer. I can't wait to get my grubby paw on that game. ^^

I am re-playing Mass Effect with Paragon for the most part.

Shepard's presumed death in the first trailer that came out might have been a decoy.
You know ... to cover up the fact Shepard's actually alive and actively working to stopping the Reaper threat covertly.
Notice how in this trailer one of the potentially hostile Asari said: 'Shepard? But you're dead.'

    It's entirely possible.
I mean, also, if the previous saves will have influence on the sequel game, then it's likely you will either resume from whichever choices you made in the previous game.
Such as I dunno, setting free the Rachni queen, saving the council in the end, or made decisions to kill them both ...
You know ... those kinds of things.
If you have previous saves you wish to play with in the sequel, they will make the story more rich and possibly complex in turn.

I agree the second trailer looks great.
I wonder how power hungry the game will be when it's released.

Wasn't the reaper threat crushed at the end of ME? The only way to activate the Citadel Mass Relay was that dreadnought thing and it got blown up by the Normandy.... I think we'll have to face off with a much more tangible threat than the Reapers. The Geth might for example start to get out of the Veil in force or something like that.

The immediate threat was stopped, but they need to be completely destroyed, they will find a way to continue their cycle.

Indeed ... as far as I recall from ME ending when I first played it, Shepard only said that the Sovereign may have been eliminated, but that the Reapers are still coming and will try to get back into the Galaxy.

I'm guessing that the Geth will have a more prominent role in the sequel for one thing, and of course the Reapers might start turning up.

If we go by this second trailer, Joker said: 'It wasn't the Geth!'
Implying there's a different kind of enemy at work here (from whatever mission they were on to begin with).

And as I already mentioned, there is a possibility that Shepard being dead might have been a decoy initially (or at least 'officially' as far as the game characters are concerned).

there are all kinds of possibilities to ponder after all.

Anyone have any clue as to the specs the sequel will need?

Why not just make games like ME amd FO3, full fledged First Person Shooters, since the role-playing part of the games, takes a back seat to the "Bling-Bling" !

Bring Down the Sky. Yeah, I liked it a lot. There are some graphical improvements, though I think it's mainly in things like the textures. It doesn't take too long to complete compared to the other worlds--it's really pretty short. Combat is difficult but nothing really innovative. However, if you're a roleplayer, I'm pretty sure you'll love it regardless.

To conclude, the PC DL content is worth it, especially as it's free. :) Not sure how much the Xbox content is.

nah on xbox i think it costs like $4 or something......i guess it serves me right for picking up the 360 version which also takes a while to lad textures once you go into a new room
