Anyone else get ME2? I'm having an awesome time with it, I'm not sure how I feel about the new weapon systems, I can fire more often but now I can (and have) actually run out of ammo.

But anyways I'm about 5 hours into it, seeing some new faces and seeing some familiar faces, either way the characters are great. Great voice acting, the professor is hilarious and , definitely one of my new favorite characters so far.

I like the new dialogue options where you can interrupt someone with either a paragon or renegade action, it feels more natural, instead of everyone waiting for everyone else to finish their thoughts before expressing themselves.

I am also strangely satisfied with the new way you interact with side-quest planets (scanning). I like that mini game for some reason, it's always exciting when your scanners are going crazy when you find a rich resource spot.

What about you guys? Did anyone import their ME1 character? Let's hear some thoughts and share the experience :D

I love it so far, just a bit disappointed that they removed a lot of the RPG flair from it... still, it's a great game.

I also really like the minigame, though it seems were one of the few lol.

I'm enjoying it, but I miss a lot of the RPG stuff, as well. I miss the hunting for new armor so that you looks change - I know you can change the color, etc., and upgrade it to look different, but it's not really the same. I hate the ammo system, as well.

As for the story line, though, it's got hooks in me deeply already :). I imported in my Paragon Vanguard/Shock Trooper. I've only done two side missions and completed the first two planets, so I have quite a while to go.

There is good and bad. I'm hoping that as the game goes along the upgrades will be more noticeable and that ammo stops being such an irritant.

Just started playing yesterday, and i have to say WOW!

The voice acting and the dialog was top notch. Even the graphical improvements were done very well, much improved over the first one, without that much of an effect on performance.

I'm on the same boat as you guys. The absence of the inventory, the ammo counter, the simplicity of the skill layout... Everything just felt different, really unlike any RPG I've ever played.

I haven't got any really new weapons... :( Don't like the basic sniper rifle with a single shot each reload grrr! And the armour I found looks great but has bad bonuses! I WANT my inventory back!! However I love ME2 it's amazing. I like the research implementation, and the addition of an advisor...helps to see if members are disturbed without having to wait a certain time then find out.

But I also see an absence of chatter during combat/travel; Garrus and Wrex in ME1 used to just chat away when going up and down the elevator or in combat...even in Dragon Age as well the characters chat. I actually like that idea...or maybe I have not paid attention enough.

AND I regret deleting my ME1 character that I played through 2 times :\ Now the ME2 thinks that Wrex died (which I didn't in ME1), but most choices I did through ME1 came through to the new character; council killed off and Kaiden dead...yet to see more though.

Anyone else redeem bonus codes acquired from pre-orders and/or the CE? It may be just me but the way EA Online/Bioware have it set up seems to be counter-intuitive. Especially if you've got the console version. It's right up there with the Fallout 3 DLC fiasco, imo.

Yes, they did have a lot of problems with redeeming DLC codes, most especially the codes for Cerberus. Most copies of retail CE had problems with their Cerberus codes. Good thing Bioware was able to immediately administer a fix within the day.

Pre order items like the Terminus and Inferno armor seem to be working alright.

I'm not really sure about the console version, but for the PC version, I redeemed my codes through my Bioware social account.

The whole game is a huge improvement over the first Mass Effect....
Bioware consists of people with IQ at least above 140.. heads down to them! :)
Everything that annoyed the hell out of me has been not fixed, but simply cut out from the game and replaced with solutions I love in Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 1 was too easy even on insane difficulity ( at least for me )

Mass Effect 2 now, well thats a combat system I love :) I died more than few times - and thats just on normal difficulity!

Weapon system is so good now - I hated how in Mass Effect 1 you couldnt actually se the items you found or purchase- just cheap box pictures - now every weapon looks unique :)

What do you guys mean that the rpg elements have been removed? Gear wise?

I'm actually glad they don't have that half assed inventory now, such a weird console-ported inventory system. But I do agree on the research, I'm waiting to save up 15k iridium for the improved scanner for even MORE resources! *mad laugh* And by advisor do you mean Kelly? If so that's also a great feature, she's like my assistant! But don't rely on her too much if you want to squeeze every conversation out of your crew, she told me nothing was up and then I talked to Miranda and there was a new conversation! Maybe she wants me for herself and will not tell me if the other girls have something new to say..

I agree, bioware is my favorite rpg dev, makes me proud to be canadian haha. And I'm also loving the combat too, although I wish they dropped more hand cannon ammo, that's my sniping weapon so most of the time i have to get up close.

So I just got the assassin, pretty entrance :D Also earned Miranda's trust, you know what THAT means :D ... ... it means I unlock her last biotic power :p What do you guys think of elevator loading now? In ME1 it took forever to get out of that elevator but it masked an explicit loading screen so it doesn't pull you away from that immersion, but now they have this separate loading screen, like/dislike?

Yea - the levels take more time to load now, but still.....I feel less annoyed by loading screens knowing the fact the this game has so much stuff to load - it's so rich inside lol!

Well if you can overlook the hassle with getting all the bonus items install and transfering old ME1 saves. This game is great. It draws you in right from the start and will not let go, It's makes you feel you have never left the ME universe at all. UPS lost my shipment for a day so i did not get the game till yesterday and it was quite late by the time I got home and get everything installed. I had to stop right after the escape on shuttle with 2 people part since I know if I cantinue, I'll be up all night.

    I know !! Haha I told myself...yeah maybe I'll need sleep. I slept @ 5am instead :D

Well what I meant by inventory is like dropped weapons and dropped armour...I've been sticking to the (almost) same default ones and I'm pretty far ahead on storyline already...feels like my current items are underpowered

Yep that's her name...Kelly, but it feels like she likes Shepard as well haha...well from the way she acts that is. MIRANDA TOUCHED ME! HOW DARE SHE! But kinky :D

Now got to the point where Garrus / Grunt / Mordin / Miranda / Jacob have my trust now . Now I can touch Miranda ;)

I don't think I have actually ever been sad about something in a game, I was legitimately upset when I thought Shepard was dead at the start, lol.

I burned through it the first time, and I am playing through a 2nd time now(had a lot of class cancellations thank god), I do think the story was very good, but not as good as the first one.

The gameplay additions and revamps outweigh this though, I do beleive it is one of my favorite games ever.

I'm still waiting to touch miranda :( She said she'll come by when things get quiet so I'm guessing I have to advance the plot

 damn you guys beat it already? And I thought I've been playing it a lot, although I'm going for a playthrough where I really milk all the upgrades and side missions (unless you guys have done that too? ) How many hours did you guys log?

I did Miranda, I also reloaded and did Tali, I'm kind of dissappointed with the scenes though, not even a side boob shot in this one! I wonder how Subject Zero woulda been like, but I would make her wear a wig.

So I beat the game over the weekend... not sure if I agree with the final boss  And everyone survived!... after I reloaded once :p

Great game, I feel so much less compelled to get the achievements so I didn't even go for the romance. Maybe it's because I'm not playing on my 360 this time.

IMO Tali is the most adorable NPC in the entire Mass Effect universe, the game designers depicted her personality very well, you simply care about her and her problems and you always hear emotional crush towards Shepard in her voice. So how could anyone be mean to her? Whenever I replay Mass Effect 2 I will always pick her as my love interest :)
Subject Zero feels so dirty and dry and Miranda is just a typical sfi-fi babe.

I really hope we get to see Tali's face in ME3......another 3 years of waiting just for that.

As for the final boss - it was shocking and quite movie-style :)

I agree about Tali, she's such a sweet girl / quarianett? I think their face looks similar to human, you always see the glowing eyes and I even saw a nose.

I don't know about the last boss, I didn't even get hurt once, it felt like a target practice. And the sounds made me feel like I was fighting a transformer. And the twist felt like it was too big of a stretch, we've always seen reapers as those ships, even in the cutscene at the end when we see a whole fleet of them and now we're supposed to believe that they could be made from or look like anything...

If Tali dies at any point of Mass Effect 3 - I will be veeeryyy angry at the devs.

actually she doesn't work for the shadow broker. she is chasing the shadow broker down. Reasons why she is is so cold and a key plot point, though overlooked by many, is listed in this thread...
