Neat! I hope the council will repay the blood debt they created me when I sacrificed part of the human navy to save their incompetent rear ends... I should have left those idiots die.

On another note. Yay for ESV!

Another side note. Kratos is in the new Mortal Kombat? WTH...

What kind of specs you think we'll need to run it? I know I can run ME2 on "power saver" without overclocking my GPU at all.

2011 will be one of the most epic years in gaming. I think I might celebrate by building a nice desktop to run all these things nice and pretty. Don't forget that The Old Republic is also probably coming out also.

Mass Effect 3? Looks epic. I have only just finished the 1st one and am starting on the 2nd. Already I can say I'm a big big fan.

My only concern is that I won't be upgrading my laptop for a while yet, certainly not in the next year (unless I win the lottery!). I hope the system requirements stay the same as the first 2 games, as they run really nice and smooth, even at 1080p.

They run even better on my computer's lower resolution :p

    But I agree.

I'm also looking forward to The Old Republic and Diablo 3, but who knows with D3 when that is actually coming out.

Just found out ME3 uses the unreal engine 3 just like the others which should mean system requirements won't increase by too much - right?

ES V - I've played them all the way back to ES 1 :)
VERY much looking forward to the many superb RPG's in 2011.
    Two W
    Witch 2
    Drag Ag 2
D3 (if it makes it in time)
    and now ES V

    Great, great year coming up.
And my R3 almost here to boot!

Nah, you should be fine if you can run ME2. Considering the fact that ME3 will be a multi-platform game, I doubt the PC version will get any special graphical treatments - other than your normal higher texture, higher resolution support, etc.

Now Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim is a different story, it seems like it will use a brand new engine - Twitter / Bethesda Blog: Seeing lots of speculation ...
Hopefully the new engine can handle more than 10 NPCs on one screen without severe performance hit.

I can't wait for either game. TES V will be epic. I got so much mileage out of TES IV (with all the mods out there). ME3 will be awesome. Loved the first two ME games. Plus when ToR comes out, I will not be playing any fps games next year.

Separate question guys. Should I hold off on buying an Alienware M11x now and save that money to buy a better laptop/desktop (prefer laptop) that will play these games next year?

In my opinion, if your laptop works fine for you now, then hold off. If you buy it now in preparation for the new games, all it will do is get older while waiting for the new games :p

I just hope the trend is bucked of console-aimed games getting dumber with each iteration. What made Morrowind brilliant was that you needed a brain and dedication to play it.

Man time to pull out oblivion and the morrow wind mod and go through both games, TES:5 PLEASE have a very VERY modded Gamebryo engine. Fallout NV looked like garbage but you have a chance to set the benchmark for gaming again. Who remembers Oblivion crunching their comps. Man sooo hyped , oh and for everyone to know its 333 days away.... So... Long

Completely new engine built in house. Too bad they couldn't use it for FNV, but I wouldn't call the the graphics on NV garbage.

definitely dated though, I'd say the same about Oblivion now, even though I remember first seeing that game and being like "OMG EYES BLEEDING", The mods def kept the game in decent shape for the last 4 ish years. Regardless im glad to hear of the new engine because when they first said they were working on TES5 they said heavily modified engine, which i mean you could loosely define as brand new engine :p I kid. I've got big expectations for this game, and Im waiting for the one TES with all lands brought together for like a 1000 hour game of awesome.

But yeah, super stoked for 2011 now, ME3 looks friggin' epic, TES V should be good, a new engine is exactly what they needed, then we got DA2 and D3, I'm calling it, 2011 will be the year of the rpg

Then add Two Worlds II, The Witcher 2, Fable 3, and the new Deus Ex. Definitely a stacked year for RPG fans.

I'm still struggling to get Dragon Age, Risen, and The Witcher off of my backlog.

oh..my..god..sir you just posted what ive been wanting to see for years. a new elder scrolls game. unfortunatley im at work right now..so ill watch it when i get home..but now i have something to look forward to. thank you.

    sucks though, nov 2011 :(

btw everyone, oblivion is probably the highest standard RPG out there even right now. Believe me, I've played a huge range of RPGs and nothing kept me occupied longer then Oblivion. Sure they could add a bit more stuff in the world and a broader range of gear but TES games have been known to change the face of RPGs for a generation of gaming. Morrowind was HUGE for the xbox. It was like nothing anybody had seen before. So was Oblivion on the 360. And now, hopefully Bethesda won't mess up like they did with New Vegas (terrible imo, 3 was way better) and set a new standard for fantasy RPGs out there. I'm stoked.

There is evidently a range of opinions...I have seen mods to make Oblivion play more like Morrowind, as well as mods to make Morrowind to play more like Oblivion. I am also in the more-Morrowind-like camp.

then i saw what everyone else who watched the trailer saw. i thought of this thread and felt the need to bump it because its that epic.
