I have a mixed bag with this. I have a feeling they are just going to make more cutscenes to try to "clarify" the mess of a set of endings they keep refusing to change. In fact Jennifer Hale recently was interviewed and she said that BioWare currently has not been in contact with Hale for any VO work for the near future. I am certain that BioWare just doesn't want to commit anymore resources to the endings and just want to get something done to stop the raging fanbase.

I am still not pleased with it but I will give ME 3 another shot when it does get released.

Conrad Verner and Marauder Shields should've been on Shepards team.

Hmmm. That does seem to be the card they're playing as the whole "free" aspect of it already implies that either they already have it done (planned all along) or that they are just doing the bare minimum to suppress the negative publicity. Otherwise, I'd be inclined to think that they would go the Broken Steel route.

I wish (hope?) that the indoctrination/hallucination theory is correct. If the fans can come up with an epic twist ending but BioWare can't, there's a problem.

They aren't deviating from the original ending concept. They are just "clarifying" the ending. There is a high chance the new DLC doesn't not even involve Shepard so that theory is most likely not going to come true.

Sounds like the only thing they're doing is rendering a few more videos to further the story line 'as is.' Crap + crap = more crap.

indeed it appears that they are using some cut dialogues and some other in game videos (which = to no problem at all) just to appease some fans... Or most of them...

Basically fallout broken steel wont be surpassed or anything... I still feel that this is something quite poor, and quite a band aid... not something substantial, despite the poor writing (and there is no denying regarding to that) and the poor lead (there is also no denying regarding that)

Basically they are going to insert some videos and call it done.

Sincerely this art thing is just bull... every painting, photograph, book, poem, or whatever is the artistic vein it leads to some criticism, be either bad or good... not to expect the backlash that the endings gave us, is to be ineffective, absent minded, not caring for your work, basically we are calling it done before we are satisfied with what we produced. Having work with HR, I would fire those guys immediately or put someone that can deliver the job in charge, its unacceptable, we cant let go something so poor and call it a good job or even complement it in any way.

However I have to give that drew aint that much better than mac, since both are poor writers, the books that drew gave us, are among the worst kind of literature that I ever read, just because he is somewhat better than mac, he aint god, he is a poor writer still.

My passion for russian, japanese, brazilian and english writers will always disagree how that they can write something like those novels and the endings. Not to mention that the comics are also poor.

Just to put it all together, I wasnt expect high literature (joyce, woolf, kawabata, dostoyevsky, ribeiro, rosa...) but I also wasnt expecting something quite low like what we were given in the end. Basically for me the writing is worse than those harlequin romance novels. WAY WORSE.

its just a poor job, covered by what they call art (clueless to why they went for that, for me they are getting to borderline of what I call brainless), and what will be delivered are some cutscenes.

I wonder if a book author just vouched for what he wrote, without the feedback from his publisher and all that testing that happens, if he aint what we should call a undiscovered/failure author. Simply because he cant touch or appeal to what he wrote in the end. There is no closure. There is no diminishing of the tension, there is simply nothing. There is an artifact that happens to clarify the history in some very childish way, and that resolves all plot. I wish that my life was just as easy like that, to have something dropped from the sky that would solve all problems that I have. Its just absent minded at the top of what I can gather.

Basically without a good leader, there is a lack of QC, without good writers there is also diminishing returns from what we can enjoy, not to mention that in the end we are also co writers of what we call history to that point, so in the end Im a poor writer as well, gladly I gain my living in the stock market, not writing ''stories''

The Mass Effect universe basically got slaughtered in the ending from the game so i dont see how a couple of cutscenes will magically make it better.
But hey, lets see how much paid DLC they can spam after the band aid. >_>

I'm actually a little mad that I bought ME2 now, since I haven't played it yet (big backlog combined with grad school). Same with Crysis Wars and Crysis Warhead. Oh well, no more EA games for me :p.

Alas, we have to wait and see what they come up with.
Who knows, perhaps they end up pleasantly surprising us - for all we know, no further voice over acting is necessary because all of it was done early on and they needed time to actually complete the game.

Either way, until the expanded ending arrives, we won't know for certain.

That is really the trick. They make a Fortune off the DLC. With the backlash of the ending, they put millions in DLC sales in Jeapardy by alienating the customers.

I have a feeling that they have a lot of unused, yet recorded dialog to tap from for re-formatting the ending. They could add a lot more, just to make it make sense..

I like they fact they are calling it the "extended cut", it makes the player feel that they are not just re-writing the end, but giving us something more as a new edition..

Seems ME3 users will get some free multiplayer content soon.
Cant wait to play as a Geth or Batarian. xD

Multiplayer is easily one of the best features of Mass Effect 3.

Nice! I just saw that too. Quite a few additions at a very worthwhile price. My main gripe with multiplayer is its very temperamental/buggy store--I'm not referring to the RNG nature of it either.

It's eaten several hundred thousand credits of mine already without giving me the corresponding packs and continues to do so occasionally. Checking the Bioware forums indicates that it's a very widespread bug too. Some folks do successfully get their packs even when it looks like the store ate their credits, but I've never had that same luck when this bug strikes. I have to hold my breath every time I attempt to buy a pack.

The worst part of the bug is when it affects those who have it occur when using BioWare points!

I don't mind that Shepard dies (I chose synthesis). What I mind is that none of it made sense. I may be repeating stuff others have said, as I haven't read all seven pages. But two things really didn't make sense to me:

    (1) James Vega was in my squad for the final mission. So he was part of the rush to the big beam to space. Everyone but me and Anderson died in that rush. So what's up with him being on the Normandy with Joker and EDI at the end? And where is the Normandy going when the green blast comes? That planet's not anywhere in the Sol system.

    (2) This entire cycle is built on the idea that organic and synthetic life inherently can't get along, so advanced civilizations MUST be reaped before they create AIs that go Terminator on all of us. But the ME world didn't ever suggest that organic and synthetic life can never coexist. That was never part of the mythology. To the contrary, Legion and EDI's existence made clear that it could.

EDIT: Also, the multiplayer has the worst progression system ever. You can't choose which new equipment you get AND the upgrades aren't based around what you actually use? I used heavy pistols and assault rifles primarily, but just by chance, more of my weapon upgrades were shotguns instead of any other weapon (and I *never* use shotguns). Weak.

Don't be mad. ME2 remains the best game I've played in years. ME3 was good, but in my opinion, didn't live up to ME2.

Yes mitlov you are repeating most of our complaints about the game

the ending didnt make any sense and you will be able to get the dlc soon, which should expand on that a little

the randomness of the packs is terrible.

My strategy is to first buy a lot of veteran and recruit packs, because you can upgrade your base weapons to lvl X quite quickly, and not to mention store medipacks and missiles.

after you reached a lvl that you desire, you go and buy only specter packs, or the super specter packs, simply because they will provide you with some good weapons. im still waiting for my weekend packs, however it doesnt matter that much, since I finally stopped playing the multi

Some of the missions were awesome. Tuchanka with the mother-of-all-thresher-maws springs to mind. I loved rescuing the biotic students from the academy. The game was far better than its ending, no doubt.

But overall, even though the combat system is more refined in ME3, I think the atmosphere of sense of urgency was stronger in ME2's missions. Tali's recruitment mission was EPIC. Going onboard the derelict reaper was totally awesome. Overlord remains my single favorite mission from all three games. Etc.

I loved the Rannoch and the Tuchanka Missions. In ME2 I loved Lair of the Shadow Broker. If they re-released Mass Effect 1 with the combat of Mass Effect 3 that would be awesome. I'm optimistic that the Extended cut will be pretty good.

Yeah, Shadow Broker is another one of the really awesome ME2 missions. The atmosphere of climbing along the outside of the Shadow Broker's ship, looking for a way inside, was incredible. And it ended with a genuine boss battle (unlike the final mission in ME3?! which was weird).

I know what you mean. I did like in the Sukesh mission if you have Liara and Garrus in your squad, Garrus mentions there goes the next Shadow Broker and Liara says "That's not funny".

Hey people, I need help because either I stop playing this game almost without starting it or I find a help.

After the first mission on the Mars I found Sniper Rifle Concentration Mod and Shotgun Shredder Mod. And next level being in Citadel when I come in the shooting room, go to the mod machine and plan to look what cool stuff I found in the previous level I see a finger! I mean I see nothing for a sniper rifle and shotgun (also found in the previous level). Only mods I see are for the M-4 Shuriken: SMG Scope Upgrade and SMG ultralight materials. That's it.

Is it OK and should be or it is some bug? Please help me.

you can either purchase those shotgun/rifle from store or wait till you unlock them/pick them up as you progress. Before that you cant access their respective mods.

@long2905 Thank you for replying to my post because I noticed usually people take my help on forums but do not help in advance when I need it.. oh human nature.

Please give me 2 minutes to create a print screen to describe the situation better.

EDIT: for some reason I can't take a screenshot. Perhaps it is because of optimus but I have set iGPU i Nvidia Control Panel to use iGPU but still I see black screen instead of a picture in Paint and dedicated GPU stil light. Oh fine.

I was going to show you that I already have 1 sniper rifle and 1 shotgun which I found at the same level Priority: Mars. So did you mean that those mods need other improved and better models of sniper rifle/shotgun so I could use those mods for sniper rifle/shotgun? I just do not see any lock shown on 2 available slots of my current start-up weapon.
For someone perhaps it is dumb question but I usually never ask anything about games and in fact this is the second time I do and the first time when I really need to know it.

Well james, I dont understand the question. Answer me this please:

    1) do the mods appear when you are on the bench, i.e is there the specified mods for the shotgun shredder and the sniper?

if there is, check the number on the mod, in this ME game the more mods you get, the higher their efficiency is, from your first run you can get till lvl 5, after the 2nd run you can get till lvl 10 or so, if my memory is not playing tricks.

well its not that bad, the mars mission is a good one, and there is nothing easier than to go and change the character althogether, and use an adapet shepard, really insanity= easiest when you use an adept shepard

I knew that being a soldier is not good. :) But I was a soldier 2 games before so couldn't change. However I already understood that only with help of biotic I can play. Otherwise it would be hell of the hard level.

its pretty easy as a soldier to go through the game on the highest difficulty, just balance the squad mates accordingly, and choose the load out as well.

This bug freaks me! This time I used mods I found before I passed whole Mars level. So I used 2 mods but the last one is at the end of the level and I couldn't use it without modification station. So I went to citadel and... this exact mod which I didn't put on the gun dissappeared!

I will reinstall the game.. perhaps it helps.

hummm.... have you changed the gun? if you change the gun, the mod will stay in the first gun that you modified it doesnt carry over

also go to this site and download the save game editor
    Index of /builds/masseffect3

given that I lost the save games from me2 and me1, I use those save editors, so that I can play whichever game that I want with whatever outcome from mission/romance or....

Thanks. I am not sure if I gonna use it though because I didn't find modification submenu, only intel and armor.
And no, I am not stupid :) I have only 1 type of any weapon because it is just the beginning of the game. All modifications I did not use in the weapon disappear in the new level... I haven't checked yet though if it means every unused (carried over) mod at the moment of finishing level will disappear or the one which I used in the weapon but then took away from it will stay with me.

P.S. Sorry man, before I repped you I accidentally used report button instead of Rep button :)

well james it isnt about stupidity, we have a fair share of moments that we dont know how to do stuff, I actually had the same doubt as you in the beginning, which reminds me of how I played most of FF8 without learning how to put the GF to linked to something, after that though I got ridiculously powerful and the game stopped being fun.

Check the game if its ok with origin, thats the best way to find out, if its bugging or not, but with me that never bugged, and Im actually playing again with an adept and in insanity, lets see how that fares, truth be told I was MUCH better in that game before, I actually died once in the beginning!

btw are you going to play this weekend? add me on origin karamazovmm, I will probably play it

No, unfortunately it is neither Origin nor Steam. I have troubled 250GB HDD where I thought I capped all bad blocks on 20GB partition. But what if I didn't...
I didn't tell but I saw green squares on the monitors on Mars level where was shown that some doctor women was killing personal etc. I believe I need to recover files. Will do it.
But if you have Portal 2 on steam we can play :)

And believe me or not but since November 2011 I had a laptop capable gaming Dx10 games for less than 3 months! Some part of August, September and some part of October with VAIO and also last 13 days with MSI.
I used to be a gamer but now I have a loong list to play and only the best games))

By the way, I used that save editor for increasing paragon and another red one thing on 100 yeach. I just don't like when I miss some possible ways of acting in scenes. ;)

    make that a jedi sentinel.

that save editor is a life saver some times, however pay attention to not screw the game up, some the save can be corrupt, I always save in a different file from the one that I modified
