A much better trailer this time around.
Previous ones made the game look so bad... -

Great video and information. This game does look promising. I have never played this series but always hear great things. For anyone familiar with this series, how does this one seem to stack up against the previous?
-
I will admit to looking at this game with a jaded eye due to the IMHO horror of an ending for ME3. I burned my bridges, but I will repair it for this installment. Graphics Look great, gameplay looks sharp. Probably will buy.
-
Hopefully EA won't disappoint this time.

Best to wait for real reviews before buying, unless you are flush with cash.

Question
Do I need to play any prior ME games to understand this? -
MahmoudDewy Gaming Laptops Master Race!
Shepard story ended in the last game, so more or less you don't "need" previous games. That being said, play them would help you understand the races, the environment and some of the complex ideas of the story.Mr Najsman and ZeneticX like this. -
Looking forward not to see rainbows this time...............

As far as I know, no. There are gonna be references to old ME games, but nothing you will miss.ZeneticX likes this. -
I did something I haven't done in years and pre-ordered this game a month ago. Can't wait to get it.

Also I feel the game is just hollow with all that combat boasting and the profile unlocked and all Am I playing a Sci Fi game or what...BioWare is gone we all know that, Don't get your hopes high on this.Last edited: Feb 25, 2017 -

Meth, before and after? Oh wait, on the right she has no make up...
But to be honest I don't get all that discussion about the looks. Seriously, you go on Youtube/etc. and half of the complains are femshep looks!!! Who cares? Freakin' neckbeards. Go play Skyrim!
Yeah, so far I'm cautious about the game as well. This game got my attention, and I might get it, instead of Wildlands, but first I got to see the proper reviews.
I disliked ME3 (no, not because of the ending, I simply didn't get to that part because the game was boring), and was a bit disappointed with ME2, and DAI was also not very good, so I'm keeping my guards up. -
my laptop should be all good to play it then. i did pre-order it on ps4 though i might cancel it in favour of another game.

...you were worried?Mr Najsman and Atma like this. -
no, i preordered before seeing the specs. only just saw the specs before posting my previous post.
-
Previews have been extremely positive. I think Bioware has reacquired their niche.

As far as I know reviewers got to play a couple of missions, so I woud take those reviews with a grain of salt. -
will still play it over wildlands cos i like mass effect.
-
I enjoyed the series greatly. Can't wait to try this one out. For those who haven't played the games, it would be best to try them all out really. Especially, if you never seen the Infamous original ME3 ending (They fixed that).
-
There will be a day 1 patch (big surprise) and the PC version will be 55gb. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/mass-effect-andromeda-will-have-day-one-patch-full/1100-6448213/
-
Well 55GB is a lot better than the 101GB, that Gears of War 4 gobbled up on one of my drives.
Anyone read anywhere that this game will be SLI compatible?Atma likes this. -
Previews, not reviews.
Most sites got to play 5 uninterrupted hours, which is enough to get a good feel for a game's beginnings and mechanics.Mr Najsman and Atma like this. -

Yeah, I remember I thought DAI was good after playing 5 hour trial. Once I bought it I saw the real game...
To be honest 5 hours is nothing in an open-ish world game.Last edited: Feb 28, 2017Atma likes this. -
Yea I'm remembering Dragon Age Inquisition. All the fetch quests, it felt like a bad MMO. I'm going to wait a month or two before buying this one.
-
I agree, I will definitely wait for a little while before I buy it. Let them get the kinks out, I'm tried of being a beta tester. Besides, I still need to finish Gears 4, COD infinite Warfare and I'm currently reliving GTA V -
I don´t mind day 1 patches, lets them iron out more stuff on the home stretch.

17 minute commercial from IGN:
My gawd, that's a tight spacesuit! It really puts ass in Mass Effect...
And it looks like Mass Effect decided to include their own variation of Batman Detective Mode. -

Anyone know if this will be cross-platform compatible?
-
Not unless something has changed.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will not feature cross-platform multiplayer -
they were all tight in the original trilz!
-
Recommended PC hardware (4790 & 1060) will only play at 30 fps at 1080p High:

Those are the cut down 1060 3gb and 480 they are using though. So a 1060 6GB and 480 8GB should be able to do better then that.
The CPU specs are whats odd though. The i5 3570 blows the AMD FX-6350 out of the water for single core speeds, but the FX is a 6 core, same with the Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD FX-8350 (8 core). Frosbite 3 games do seem to use more then 4 cores/threads if available, still odd though that the single core speeds would have such a large disparity. -

That's probably a footage taken at PAX.
Still on the fence about this game. On one side it's kinda meh, but on the other side those tight space suits on femshep... Gameplay also looks OK.Atma likes this. -

How did you get to do a 10 hour trial! Sounds good.

Agreed. It's just everything I read about Inquisition is how much it suuuucks.
