    Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Link

Updates for the PC version include:

Optimized for the PC, Mass Effect for the PC incorporates the following features:

    * Optimized controls designed specifically for the PC.
    * High resolution visuals – Mass Effect for the PC features highly detailed textures, characters and environments.
    * Fully customizable controls – PC gamers can re-map the control scheme any way they like.
    * Run & Gun Control – Players can assign biotic powers or skills to ‘hot keys’ allowing them to play Mass Effect with a heavier focus on action.
    * New decryption mini-game.
    * New inventory screen GUI and functionality – The enhanced inventory system makes it easier for players to equip and modify their weapons and armor.

Plus the increased CPU/GPU and a guaranteed Hard Drive power should mean a stop to that AWFUL tearing and texture pop-in the 360 version suffered from.

Not to mention: Mass Effect MODs and Total Conversions!

KOTOR and KOTOR2 were far superior than their XBOX counterparts, I expect Mass Effect to be the same in that regard.

Heard about "Mass Effect" a lot.... so much infact I thought it was a game released long back, one that I haven't tried out yet. This topic brings me to the knowledge that it hasn't released yet and it's just a well awaited game. :)
    Looking it up now....

It was released on the 360 in November and was nominated Game of the Year by a bunch of gaming Magazines and Websites. The PC version should be even better since the list of changes fixes the few big issues people had with the game (inventory system, control screen, etc). The graphics were fantastic on the 360 but it seems we are going to get an ever better version!

I beat it twice on my 360 and loved it....but playing through KOTOR and now KOTOR 2 on my PC...I can't wait for Mass Effect on PC, it'll be awesome.

Also, are there any mods for KOTOR?

KOTOR2 has some mods and there is some big, giant project still going on to fix all the issues and bring back content that was cut from the game to meet a shipping deadline. That project has been going on for a while without much in terms of usable content, so I wouldn't expect too much.

I'm not so sure. If they optimize it at least as well as they did for KOTOR, I think midrange hardware should work well. You aren't going to be seeing max settings at 1080p, but you'll see 1440x900 at high.

Chances are that they'll optimize closer to Rainbow 6: Vegas, Halo 2, and Guitar Hero III than any other game.

Yea, 1440x900 on high sounds about right, have faith in Bioware...I can't wait for this, i'll buy it all over just because of the new features..plus RPG's on PC > on console :)

well...my screen res is 1680x1050...is that considered Half HD or something??? If the game runs smoothly on DDR2 256MB card...then they did a good job...but with console ports to PC's...often times its not really optimized.
They did do a very good job on KOTOR...lets hope for the same for Mass Effect.

Me too, I should be able to get $25 for my 360 edition which would essentially cut the price of the game in half.

bioware engines tend to suck, bad. their only successful engine was the infinity that were used for PST, BG1+2 and bunch of black isle games. kotor was alright so who knows.

    Any reason behind the assertion?

No official system requirements released yet? I'm hoping the game will run on my current laptop when it is finally released.

fallout 3 yes, but from what i have heard and from what i have read Turok has MANY issues such as poor A.I and that they have not bothered doing anything new (i was really excited about the game until i read the reviews, i think ill rent it first)

it's no halo or half-life but still a pretty good shooter, and the only reason i've been waiting for it is the DINOSAURS, something we've never had enough of in video games...

WOW, i can't wait. So far my 64bit x1700 runs the witcher at 1024x640 med-low settings, so i really hope it will run ME. Otherwise i'll be forced to OC it to hell and back :D
