I was thinking of getting this game to play on the road since it has gotten such good reviews. Think it will play okay on a 7800 GTX 512/C2D 2.1? I have 2 GBs of RAM, XP and the crappy hard drive that came in it.
I'd like to play at a decent resolution, though I'm not optimistic enough to think it will do native (1920x1200)..was looking for just some high settings at something like 1200x800.
I love Bioware games, and this one has a good deal right now for $35

it ran pretty well on high settings at 1200x800 on my M1710 w/ 7950M GTX.
-
Mine is the 7800M GTX 512, I don't know how that stacks up against the 7950. Thanks for the response. The game looks fun.

At 1280*800 resolution you should be able to almost max everything. I could play with a mixture of med-high settings on my 8600mGT.

I've had something of a revival of interest since I heard about SW:TOR, and played both Kotors again. I decided it was time to check Mass Effect out and see how that game is.
Thanks, I'm going to get it since it seems it will run okay -
Don't worry, it will run fine, and actually the visuals and overall presentation is very good.

Amazing game you should have no problem running it.
-
You should hover between 20-35 at max settings.
Mass Effect is $19.99 on Steam fyi. -
It's an awsome game. I just beat it yesterday and i plan to re play as another class and as a good person then a evil person this time( in terms of dialogue and actions i take) but with 8700's i max it all out no problem and i think ur cards cab def make the game palyable

My 8600m GT handles it just fine.

I don't know who was trying to sell you it for $35 because it is $20 new almost everywhere.

Mass Effect is a great game and your laptop will run it perfectly. I don't know if it will run 100% perfectly but at least 99%

Mass Effect on a Dell m1710... decent?
