I uninstalled ME from my PC after beating it about 2 weeks ago but decided to reinstall it this morning. Before it was working fine but now every time I try to start it, no matter what the settings are. I updated it with the latest patch and my drivers are all the same as they were last time I played it and the only difference in my system is that I replaced Avira with MSE but I even tried disabling MSE and it still won't start up. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How many times have you installed/reinstalled. ME (disk version) has install limits because of its crappy DRM.

It is only the third install, I believe, but it might be the fourth. Wouldn't it just not install if this was because of the limit? What is happening is a black screen and freeze every time I tried to run. It installed just fine.

If you have registered the game. I believe you can deauthenticate online/deregister particular machines to gain back another install. Correct me if I'm wrong

I have tried running it as an admin and according to EA's deauthorization tool I still have 4 authorizations left.

If anyone has any suggestions before I give up, I would love to hear them. I tried disabling sound, running in XP compatibility mode, disabling UAC, ending all unneeded background tasks, and everything else I could think of.

Have you tried contacting EA Tech Support before you give up? After all they did make the game. ;) :)

I sent them an e-mail but from what I have heard, it can take forever for them to get back for you
