ok so i got Mass Effect some days ago. the thing is when i run the game its checks to verify it. BUT it always gives the error that you are not connected to the internet and plz check your connection and try again.

but i am connected and i ran it on another computer in my home also but no luck. what can i do. i a very pissed cuz i buy my games from my local store and they just got it months after it was releases. AND they have no refund policies on CDs at all. i had been waiting for months to play it!!!

Try disabling firewalls and check your modem/router for any restrictions.

Unfortunately I don't have a solution for you, but I feel your pain.
I do advice you though from now on to not buy any game that is protected in the same way. For example Bioshock. What I do is either not buy them at all or if there are Xbox 360 versions buy them for that. That way you avoid all this ****.

Now, there are other options too if you want the PC version, but you will have to find out for yourself.
But I wouldn't do that, get the Xbox 360 version, it is a great game. Yes, I do realise that this way you buy the game twice or that you might not have an Xbox 360.

Somebody posted a potential solution to this one the BioWare forums:
    http://masseffect.bioware.com/forums/viewtopic.html?topic=639822&forum=127

You can try it and see if it works for you.
