I'm running around the Citadel doing side quests. I want to get on with the story, but I'm 19/21 on scanning these Keepers, and I can't find the last two.

I'm really enjoying this game. It's the first Oblivion-type open world game I've ever played.

Yes, pretty much. It has a lot going for it. The setting is very well done and the story seems good so far. The game looks good without having ridiculous requirements. The combat is pretty good (as far as I can tell; I have not played too many of these games before).

And dont worry those are hardly spoilers, its not a final final battle its like a mini battle, not even a boss battle id say.

yes apparently telling people you have battles with big guys is spoilers, i hardly see how that was a spoiler, get over it.

im going through it a second time, good news i think, you can use your previous character if you like, you get all of your weapons, he/she at the same level, all your equipment, etc, it is just a bit harder.

Quite similar with minor differences. Squad skills are combined for heal, hacking and such so you don't have to switch character to perform different functions. Still got the good and evil gauge just now it's call Paragon and Renegade.

It's not that similar. KotOR was more or less a pure RPG: combat is determined mostly by your character's abilities (you just have to select them, which you can do while the game is paused). ME is an RPG/FPS hybrid: character abilities still play a significant role, but if you can't aim and/or aren't quick, you'll lose regardless of them and the flip side is also true (your superior reflexes can make up for a low level or poorly thought out character).

Also, Paragon and Renegade aren't mutually exclusive the way Light and Dark side were; as far as I can tell, gaining points in Paragon does not reduce your Renegade points and vice versa.

Paragon and Renegade Meter explained from the game manual (highlight to read...don't read if you normally don't read the manual I suppose)

    Paragon and Renegade meters

These meters track your choices throughout gameplay.

The Paragon meter increases when your choices are noble, cooperative, or self-sacrificing. Paragons achieve their goals by doing the right thing what is nearby.

The Renegade meter increases when your choices are aggressive,
selfish, or ruthless. Renegades achieve their goals by any means
    necessary.

I personally play the badass role (try to guess what extreme on the meter I fall on :p)

Answering how they work together (not from manual, but no spoilers except about game mechanics, again highlight to read):

And yes, they are not mutually exclusive, you can gain points in Renegade and Paragon at the same time, they are on separate gauges and do not effect each other, although I don't think its possible to get both points in the same conversation.

Well for me, the framerates aren't stable. Sometimes it's at 40FPS, and sometimes it suddenly goes down to 18 or so, then back to 40, then 25,etc.

Yeah I occasionally get those drops but very rarely. In my experience, changing to anisotropic filtering has very little, if any, performance hit and the visuals improve greatly on floor textures.

I just beat it today, playing on normal difficulty. I ended at L49, which ticked me off because I was 1 away from getting the achievement for 51-60.

Protip: Colossus and Predator armors FTW. I had my whole team outfitted in Colossus for the final mission and nobody on my team went down once.

Have you hit 1 million credits yet? If so, keep checking the Requisition officer in Normandy for the Spectre Master Gear. The dude selling stuff in C-Sec also carries it. The only weapons that come close to it are the Rosenkov rifles/shotguns, but even then, once you buy the Spectre Master Gear weapons you'll never have to ugprade (unless you're playing on a higher difficulty and can get the IX level of them). Once you hit level 36 go back and buy all the applicable licenses, you mainly want Kassa for the Colossus line. I think Predator is Hahne-Kadar which you should have bought fairly early on. Serris is also a good one, and Armax has good weapons for the rest of your team. Also, a tip I got on another site: Equip your AR (if you're a soldier) with 2 Frictionless Materials (highest level you have). It completely stops overheating so you can spam AR fire at those pesky Geth Destroyers, Geth Primes, etc, especially with Tungsten rounds, and it takes them down really easily. If you see Krogans, just equip the Shredders and they go down really fast. Of course, this is all for Soldiers.

I know this is an old thread but yesterday I was playing ME and noticed that the game ran at a constant 60FPS (no dips - nothing). I'm not complaining but was wondering if anyone knew if there was a frame limiter in game? I just thought it was interesting - did a google search and found nothing so I was wondering if anyone knew.

I have a annoying bug: my weapons overheat and eventually just stay overheated wich means that I either have to use hand to hand only or reload a save... Anyone else has this problem? Btw is the saren research base the last mission?

^No Saren's research base isn't the last mission. And, I don't have any experience with this particular bug either.

I have experienced 3 bugs in particular - I'm playing with a female shepard and in one cutscene the male shepard was used. And, in a huge cutscene at Saren's base my shepard was missing from the cutscene altogether and the camera was rather wacky. And, 2 or 3 times my shepard has randomly found herself stuck on the outside of a staircase. Other than that the game has been enjoyable.

    I see...My bugs are:
    _Stuck in elevator
_Teleport while quick-saving in movement: when saving liara in the protheans ruins I ended up free falling(didn't die surprisingly) because I was running toward the guard rail when quick-saving.
    _Weapons stuck in overheating...

I hope "Bringing down the sky" will fix a lot of things.

That led to a "duh!" moment for me. If I'm not mistaken I think I do have it enabled in game but not through CCC. Thanks. I had read in the tweak guide that the FPS is capped at 62 or 63. So, I'm not missing much. Thanks though.

Bringing Down The Sky is an add-on that is supposed to come out on pc in the near future. And now as far as I know it does support mods but the universe is large enough to keep you busy for a long while.

I didn't get hit with it until the boss battle at the end. But, I REALLY enjoyed ME much more than I thought I would. I did a lot of yelling at the screen while I played because I thought Shepard was just so badass. So, I really loved the ending. It put a big :D on my face. I'm looking forward to the next one now.

You can customize the main character, just choose 'new profile' or something. Half of my friends couldn't find this option either, Bioware should have made the character creation process clearer. There are also 6 classes to choose from, default is a soldier.

Well not all the soldier skills (otherwise there'd be no need for the soldier class :)), but the Vanguard seems to be what you're looking for.

    Vanguard Pros over Soldier:
    -Excellent Crowd Control (Throw, Lift)
-Has Warp which is great on higher difficulties as it can increase the amount of damage you do by a lot
-Has Barrier = 1000 Shields at your beck and call.

    Vanguard Cons:
-Medium Armor instead of Heavy Armor (But IMO Barrier > Armor)
-No Fitness (and thus no Immunity) but if you lift/throw all your opponents then they can't shoot you am I right? ;)
-No Assault or Sniper Rifles. This just means that the Vanguard is a close and nasty combatant.

    Basic strategy for the vanguard:
    -Run into biotics range
-Hit opponents with Lift/Throw and Warp for tougher opponents (against weak opponents you kill them too fast for warp to really take an effect)
-Use Carnage (best weapon skill ever!) which turns your shotgun into a rocket launcher
-If enemies still remain use Adrenaline Rush (recharges all your skills automatically)
    -Rinse and Repeat

If you want biotics and rifles however, (Achievement spoiler highlight to read: get 150 kills with the weapon and you can add it as a bonus skill to a new character) and create an adept with the weapon of choice.
