Steam code Max Payne 3 Standard on Amazon!

Anyone know what’s the difference on the Special Edition?
Also, on the Steam Page there is a $30 DLC – Rockstar Pass <- what is this?
Also, is this a subscription based game like Star Wars?

THANK YOU!
I was hoping it was a digital download and it's not only digital download, it appears to be a steam key! Perfect price!

Please note that if you're going to post deals from other sites, make sure they don't contain referral tags.
Such links are NOT allowed on NBR. -
I think the Rockstar Pass is a pay once get all DLC for free type deal. Shrug. I'm never sure if it's worth it. I suppose you're just gambling that $29.99 is less than you would spend on the DLC. I guess if you wanted them all day-of-release it would be. If you are the type that waits for GOTY sales it wouldn't be.
-
No problem. Anyways, for the folks, search around on Amazon. A ton of games are on a 50%+ off sale starting today including Spec Ops The Line, MW3, & Darkness II. Most activate on Steam as well.
-
You aren't kidding!
Syndiate: $14.99
Borderlands GOTY: $7.49
Darkness 2: $12.49
Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate: $25.84 (granted not THAT good a deal)
Dragon Age 2: $8.05
Some other stuff that is hard to tell if it's a good deal or not.
As Civ V was recently on a big steam sale I wouldn't say that one is crazy good. -
Yup I've been downloading non-stop this morning lol. With the Steam summer sale around the corner (hopefully) it's hard to pull the trigger on stuff, but some of these were good enough I had to jump on them.
-
yep, it does in fact unlock on Steam, picked up a copy this morning... got the email earlier with the link from Amazon... I'm glad to see Amazon trying this out, selling actual Steam keys instead of just their own downloads.
Been downloading a while, this sucker is 30GB! -
First game I bought in half a year more than $15. But from reviews, I got the itch.
-
Same here, lol. Guess I'll have to play tomorrow. 30GB... dayum!

Yeah, I was thinking of buying the other deals too, like Spec Ops. But maybe I should wait because I didn't even play many of my other games that I bought recently, like: Darkness 2, Stronghold 3, A.C. Revelations, just started Anno 2070, Toy Soldiers, Gotham City Imposters, Alan Wake, + several others.

Had a little trouble getting Max3 to start last night after the download... apparently there is a patch that was released that solved the problem, but for some reason Steam did not download it until I shut down and restarted Steam... so if you have launch issues and the game hangs at a black screen after the intro legal pages, that's your problem... I spent a good hour trying to troubleshoot and fix the problem that people has suggested before I realized that I just needed the patch that didn't automatically download. Just a heads up! Fun game so far though, made it to chapter 3.

I don't know why Amazon hasn't simply done this with games that are offered on Steam or Origin. Sell the keys then pass off the download duty onto the service's servers, rather than their own.
I'm tempted to bite on this because I'm a big fan of the franchise, but I'm not at all looking forward to the prospect of having to download 30 GB of data. -
I got my MP3 through Amazon, and its not a part of steam. Did it recently change? Either way its a great game!!
-
Yes, they did change it. You can now choose if you want the Steam version or not.
-
Would a UK visa card be able to buy from Amazon USA?
Also if I choose the steam version do they just send me a region free steam key for me to redeem on steam? -

For any game sold on Amazon I prefer the Steam version because when games go on sale you can get the DLCs for cheap on Steam.

Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
I believe not - Amazon's pretty strict about buying with overseas credentials. With something like a game download, the price is often determined regionally so Amazon would be technically breaking their licensing agreement to sell it to you overseas.
Of course, if you've got US credentials, you can typically buy things even if you're overseas. -
would it be possible to give just anyone your US sourced steam key for a game, regardless of where they live?
-
Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
It can be done, but if Valve finds out you're receiving money in return for a gifted steam key then you're subject to having your account permanently banned. -
guess I won't be doing that then.
