Max Payne 3 (PC) First Looks

I am eagerly waiting for the Max Payne 3. The gamespot.com has released some of its screens. I am a hardcore fan of Max Payne and so if you are also one like me then you would be happy to see the screenshots of this game.

 

DAY LIGHT? this is no max payne!

rockstar better have something up their sleeves, this does not impress me.

I'm really not feeling the new look Max. When did he start pumping iron?

 

Maybe they want a new storyline so day maxpayne.

This heck was given a name called " Max Payne 3"

 

Wow, those screenshots really make me disinterested in the game. Too bad, because I loved the original Max Payne. The second one was pretty good as well. But this... this just does not look good. Daytime, bad graphics, Max getting juiced.. I'm not liking it.

 

I don't like this at all.

why ruing oen of the best games ever. i what him to look the same. not a bald guy to use him as a light bulb.

 

Great example of game developers using the same name for a completely different game because everyone knows max payne.

 

Maybe we should start an online protest and send it to the producers...They should have left Max alone...

 

Why scrap the suave, neo-noiresque paranoia of the first two for an Arnie-lite ape shooting at, of all bad-guy stereotypes, mid-eastern terrorists?

Oh I forget, you have to have a skin-head, no brain and lotsa muscle to be a hero. If it's still slightly Max Payne it won't even have the tongue-in-check humour of an Arnie film.

 

What the hell?! Bring back the Film Noir style! Part of what made Max Payne so great was the story and style all told in that brilliant dark way. They've basically taken the name that all know, and made some totally un-original typical shooter.

Yes the graphics will be great, yes you'll be able to do bullet time, but the essence of Max Payne will be gone... Not. Happy.

Maybe these are some shots from just one level, and the rest is like the original. Who knows, still too early to know for sure.

Max Payne was built on the awesome dark and sad atmosphere with comics and noir elements, why ruin it? Who the heck is interested in shooting gangster monkeys in some stupid banana jungle during daylight... Could as well install Crysis or FarCry for that. And Max Payne could be renamed to Bruce Willis, bald guy with muscle in white A-shirt, seriously, where is the average guy in long black trench coat / duster?

Max Payne Movie was pretty bad, but it was still awesome in some way thanks to the great noir atmosphere. Take that away and you have average B movie. Same will happen to the game, sad times I really hate developers for trying to milk the last few dollars from franchise with great reputation and completely ruining that reputation

 

Max looks like he spent ten years of hard time pumping iron in the yard on Rikers.

I can't imagine Max's slick narrative coming from that body.

The fact that they've hired a new VA doesn't help much.

I don't know about you guys but without Remedy and Sam Lake to work on a Max Payne title, it just ain't M.P., and these screenshots seem to confirm that. And it takes place in Brazil and 12 years later where he's left his past life behind so they're quite literally doing a new game under the Max Payne title. I'm looking more closely into Alan Wake which is what the aforementioned crew is working on, but different genre though, it's a "psychological action thriller", either way it'll be a helluva lot better than MP3.

 

I lost interest in the Max Payne series two versions ago. This third installment does not impress me.

why every one in game these days have to be bulky. Max was thin as hell. even his coat was hardly fitting him now i guess he can bench 200kg.

why they change everything. i have to kill someone, all the fans are blown away, this is why games reaches the stat that is called FAIL.

Ok sprinter Cell is something that they should look, they kept the story line,the atmosphere, character. The same was also at HITMAN. they can change something but the story line should continue. why not doing something like that with Max 3 but changing the whole experience.

I hate how so many characters these days have the bald head >:/

Mass Effect main character, Fracture main character, Max Payne now, Resistance main character, Too Human main, just so many it's rediculous. I know MMA is popular and all with the fighters lacking hair (which I'm guessing is the inspiration for this such bland character design), but it's ironic, that one of the first and more recognizable bald headed guys, Sam Fisher, has his hair grown out for Splinter Cell: Conviction! LAWLS

As for the muscle bulk, it depends, real life soldiers are pretty well in shape. Not super bulky, but very musculer, and the same goes for a police officer. I'm not surprised by Paynes look, it's just the freaking beard and lack of hair driving me nuts. Oh and the wife beater shirt is pretty stupid looking too. I like Drake's look in Uncharted, the long sleeve shirt, the medium length short hair cut, the blue jeans (haha), very easy going look, and it's something you'd actually see someone wear. Honestly he looks a bit like some Abercrombie model, just lacking the pretentiousness ;D

 

to be fair, mass effect allows you customise the looks to some extend.

 

Big fan of both first and second but this doesn't feel right. Daylight? man hope it lives up to the standards of the others.

I just wonder why they dont continue the series with our same old max payne rather than this bald clone payne?

 

I would love to se night also at payne not just day.
Still lots of stuff to be shown but we wish to be the same as the old one.

I agree. Max payne should be dark and cold and mystically scary feeling around every corner. daylight breaks the brand

 

Doing this is nothing new though, forget Farcry 2... who remembers Super Mario Bros. 2?

 

I remember Max Payne STRICTLY being inside buildings, who let him outside?

This is nothing like max payne, looks more like a gangster game set in the jungle.


And the graphics look blurry, unreal 3 engine FTL!

 

I would like to just wait for other screen shots to see what the game looks like rather than making up my mind to get baldy payne.

christ, barely a positive comment in sight. agreed max payne should be film noir styled, focusing on the grim and dirty side of things, not some sunlit courtyard flashing hardman muscles and uzi's.
i didnt see the film, but does that tie in at all with these shots?

I think the game looks great. Makes me think of GTA IV (so here's to hoping it will be a huge game). Max payne does not looked juiced. He looks like a guy who let himself go. Look at his belly. BEER BELLY! He looks like a guy who was in real good shape, but let himself go.

I can not wait until this game comes out. Looks great, and hopefully have the same core experience as the first one with plenty of new features.

 

It should be called "Max Payne 3: Vacation" haha
