Well, Max Payne 3 is just around the corner.
I remember 1 and 2 really being in the heyday of PC gaming, and almost oddly not really remembered as Rockstar games due to GTA.
GTA 4 was a huge disappointment on PC for me, and I daresay, many others due to the horrible optimisation.
But take a look at Max Payne 3's new system requirements posted:
Max Payne 3 for PC: New Screens and Details Including System Specs and Digital Pre-Order Info | Rockstar Games
Rockstar has continually stated that the game will not be a poor port of console versions. The HUGE hd requirements is certainly a worry, but looking at the wide range of CPU and GPU requirements, maybe we might be able to run the game![]()
Apparently they are even adding the options for DX 11 tessellation, so on the top end PC's, it will look pretty damn good![]()

Difference between minimum and maximum requirements screams some kind of crazy graphical option. Kinda like Witcher 2's Ubersampling.

Woah, im wondering what will be the system requirements for gta v?
-
35gb?!?!? what the hell
-
Yeh, the 35 gb is a bit shocking. Apparently on the 360 console version, single player will be on TWO discs, and actually require you to swap over.
Regarding the HUGE range in the sys requirements, especially for CPU, I daresay there will be many options to turn stuff off. That was the case with GTA vice city and San Andreas at least, to get it to run on poorer pc's.
But yeah, those sys requirements are VERY interesting, wondering to see how the game plays out... -
are these min specs?
-
-
chill guys... I am sure they just wrote the max possible system there, for some reason they wanted to write the range of computers which can run the game.. I am sure it will be less demanding than BF3.

Max Payne 3 (sys requirements out)
