Has anyone played GTR2 on a laptop with 8600M, 8700M (or Go 7900)? What is the max playable resolution?
If possible, please include information about the graphic card (for example 8600M GT with GDDR3) and type of computer (for example Asus G1S) along with max resolution and lowest FPS during a lap.
I am primarily interested in Dell Inspiron 1520 or 1720 and Asus G1S, but I guess any computer with the same graphic card would be a good indication. Thank you!
GTR2 is a great game and I recommend it to every car simulator driver.

Edit: Changed name of graphic card to 7900. Does anyone know how to change the same in the topic?

What is the G09700? Or did you mean the Go7900? Anyway, these are about the best cards available atm, along with the Go7950 GT, so any game would be fine...

But I would like to know the highest playable resolution so I can buy a laptop with appropriate screen size pixelwise and play with native resolution. I would like to have as high screen resolution as possible as long as I can play GTR2 native.

Well it seems like it depends a lot of the settings other than resolution (of course). For example I saw a post in another forum that a desktop with Nvidia 8800 GTX @1680x1050 during night and rain only plays at 22 FPS.
Which means no laptop could play at these settings, please anyone correct me if this isn't true. -
i play it maxed out on my dell inspiron equipped with a 7900gs( all settings max and 1440x900 resolution), and it runs great, i exprience some slowdown during the night races when the rain is set to 50%, but only at beginning of the race, it actually depends on the number of cars on the track

The Go 8700m and the 8800m's are coming out shortly. Wait on those, because the go 8700m will match the preformance on the 7950GTX. But if you need a laptop in a hurry... I would still go with one of the 8 series like the 8600m GT.
Max playable resolution for GTR2 with 8600M 8700M (or Go 7900)?
