Yes you saw it right. The New MOH is coming in October.

The next Medal of Honor game has crept from the shadows. According to the Official Xbox Magazine (via Game Informer), the new game is titled Medal of Honor: Warfighter and is due out this October.

Developed by the original game's Danger Close studio, Warfighter will run on EA DICE's Frostbite 2.0 engine, which powered Battlefield 3. The game will reportedly follow a group of Tier 1 Operators, as was the case in 2010's Medal of Honor.

And while Danger Close will be using DICE's game engine, it won't be calling on the studio to once again handle Medal of Honor's multiplayer component. According to OXM, Danger Close is bringing Warfighter's multiplayer component in house.

No mention was made as to which platforms Medal of Honor: Warfighter will ship for, but the 2010 game landed on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

According to the magazine, publisher Electronic Arts will have more details to share concerning Medal of Honor: Warfighter at the 2012 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month. EA is holding a Medal of Honor-themed event in that city on March 6.

MOH was one of the best FPS game i had played in a long time. Though some reviewers panned it, i felt the content, pace and strategy of the game was light years beyond MW and MW2.

The only CoD games I liked were CoD 2 (that game is epic) and MW1. Everithing else is an expensive "meh". Haven't played MW3, but I don't think it will improve the "meh" factor.

On the other hand, I almost enjoyed each MoH instance that came on PC. Havent played the last one, but, again, I don't think I'll get disappointed by it. Maybe MP is a limitation over CoD series (can't tell, ain't played MP on any game of both series), but MoH stories are great!.

I loved it! Great sense of being in the action. And it wasn't endless streams of enemies like MW. You enter the village and you have to take out X number of people.. They don't respawn. In some ways it was like the old game "Delta Force" but on rails.

The first one was great! The console port wasn't that great that in terms of performance but otherwise it was a great game, very well done, online is pretty good not overrated and not too much of the meh factor as assultsuit feels about MW2 and maybe MW3, i only buy these games to play the single player campaign, i just don't care enough for multiplayer i really dislike it, totally ruthless. I can't wait for this to come out! BF3 storyline was decent good but MW3's was somewhat better BF3 and MOH are just way more accurate, especially with the sounds of the weapons.

Correct me if I'm wrong (the last time I played MoH was when it was in beta...). MoH is a Frost Bite powered CoD ?

I still like to jihad into tank in BF3 :D

What the heck is a "Warfighter"? The name sounds like a faux-testosterone-fueled appeal to middle-schoolers. I hope it's just a bad name choice, because despite the bugs, I liked that MoH tried to be a bit more realistic and less Jerry Bruckheimer/Tom Clancy than Modern Warfare and Battlefield plots are.

Edit: in real life, turns out "Warfighter" is a US government program where wounded vets can get internships to learn civilian job skills while they're convalescing. http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/careers/gc_1246894993888.shtm Odd choice of name for the game then.

Maybe the plot involves a Wounded Vet getting back in the Action?

Just remembered that the game "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter" used the term "Warfighter" as well, and wasn't about wounded vets. So there must be some other meaning out there.

I think it's really cool that they're trying to integrate something about the family stresses of being at war, though I'm not sure how that would actually work in gameplay terms. But good on them for trying to at least show that. Big change from the Modern Warfare approach.

I figure it is the predictable.. Wife complains about him away.. she gets involved in a terrorist attack or held hostage.. he comes to the rescue.. she sees the error in her ways..

    Standard 80's Hollywood Stuff.

Actually.. That was sort of the plot of "The Hurt Locker". The guy couldn't get away from military life and the excitement. When he was home, its like the world was muted..

Common complaint of real-life vets as well. Problem is, I don't see how to turn it into a fun-to-play interactive game? How do you make a game out of sitting at your kid's tee-ball game but being bored out of your mind and unable to concentrate?

You are sitting at the Tee-ball game, bored out of your mind, your wife nagging you to death to get her another hot-dog.. The.. BAM.. there is a flash and a suitcase nuke takes out Down-town, far in the distance. You see the far away mushroom cloud and then the EMP takes down all of the power.

A lot of people disagree, but I really loved MoH 2010. The campaign was top-notch, and multiplayer was fun. Very underrated overall.

I agree.. I especially loved the hectic yet realistic feel of the campaign due to the constant radio chatter between you and your team mates.

2010 MoH was decent.. No more or less than an average shooter that we see today. Excited about the Frostbite 2 engine tho. I would like to see some decent single player campaign unlike the cod genre, in which only multiplayer is cared about.

MOH 2010 Campaign was epic! MP was pretty terrible, but the campaign was so good I played it through many times. I can't wait for this game to come out, but I will be disappointed if they rotate your player between international SOF characters. I want to continue the original story. I'm getting sick of being teleported all over the globe from body to body playing out all these interacting story lines Modern Warfare style. Make me one character and keep it focused. It's time to get some payback for Rabbit!

I'm done buying any games at retail prices. I'll probably buy this when it's on sale.

    I enjoyed MoH 2010.
