About time. Let's see if it can bring back MoH back to the days of Allied Assault.

Is it any good? I remember allied assult and (to a lesser extent) spearhead being loads of fun.

Seemed pretty good to me, but it didn't have much storyline after the initial drop, other than "find your way to this objective, kill all enemies on the way". I did notice that you could flank enemies in multiple ways, though, which was pretty neat. (Then again, I haven't been playing a lot of games lately, so I might not be the best judge here ;p)

It ran moderately well on my A8Js at 1280 x 800, all settings medium (post processing off), but the mouse movements felt a bit too laggy for my liking.

    *Sigh*

Yet another game from the perspective of the allies, and specifically the Americans. No surprises here. I really, really wish that someone would create a game from the perspective of a German soldier on the Eastern Front instead of simply regurgitating the same thing over and over again.

At least the new CoH will have a German campaign I suppose. If only more people would follow their example.

exactly what i was thinking. one of my dad's friends asked me while playing call of duty, "what do the Germans think of these games? They HAVE to loose and get killed!!" which he is right....

Have you heard about Red Orchestra? It is a very realistic FPS of the Eastern Front. It is my favorite game. However it is mainly a multiplayer game (single player is only against bots).

Yes, I've played it Tim. Its a good game, though I really do wish it had some single player element. The bots in multiplayer mode are so ineffective they may as well not even be there and the makers have repeatedly said that they have no intentions of working on the single player aspect. Oh well. The wait continues...

MOHAA was one of my favorite games. I remember that game being so amazing in every way. Great SP but the MP was even better. I this demo hope this will live up to my expectations.

wow, just got done playing the demo. all i can say is INTENSE - i kind of want to start it up again and just mess with different locations. i am running a 8700M GT and i had all the graphics on high with high resolution, because of all the action going on at once there were slight hiccups but the game is very playable. i am definitely going to buy this one!

i wasn't really expecting to put my graphics on full power but i did anyways, i think im going to run it with less settings to see how smooth the game can play. it is just the action all over the place that seems to be making the game chop once in a while when running into battle. but like i said, VERY playable on high settings.

People with X1400's are playing it at 8x6 on low, so I would suspect slightly higher settings or resolution.

1600x1200 - Texture Detail: High - Model Detail: High - Decals: High - PPE: Full

Smooth as butter (though this is on my rig, not my laptop). Graphics are mind-blowing. The Unreal Engine definitely is adding to it's reputation atm with this and BioShock.

Though I was kinda irritated by the mouse movements. It seemed sort of hard to aim and shoot. But after about 15min, I got use to it and don't notice it at all.

    Mike.

    x1400 screenshot thread page 7.

An 8400gs will probably run it at ~30FPS at stock, but you could probably easily get ~40FPS overclocked as that thing is a beast at overclocking (some people have gone from 400/500 i think to 650/850 -.- )

it´s a DX9 game, but forget running this at 30fps with a 8400, then you have to play at low resolution and low detail and probably no post effects.

Runs like crap (15-20fps) on my Go7400, but on my desktop.... :D

Have to say though the game looks totally average in some parts, and then spectacular in others.....bit of hit and miss for me. Lighting in particular is superb. These screenshots are actually max settings at 1680x1050 but they aren't really that impressive....you'd really have to just play the game!!

Again, it's hit and miss. There are parts in Airborne that really shine, certain sections and circumstances.....especially anywhere where's there's plenty of moody lighting. And they can easily beat out Call of Duty 2. But on the whole, a lot of sections are quite bland and unremarkable. One of those would be when you're initially parachuting in - the interior of the plane is astounding, but yet when you're jumping out, it seems completely fake, and just cartoony...

but also like I said my pictures definitely don't do it justice, the game looks much better running....

    Hi

Ive got a XPS M1710 dual core 2.0, 2gb ram and 7900gtx 512mb GFX card, and for some reason it runs very badly, unless i drop down to 1024 x 768 @ low settings then it seems not to be bad occassional slow dows etc.

Surely i should have better performance than that, ive updated all drivers etc, so curious as to whether any one had any ideas, or especially if you have an XPS1710 and how it runs for you and at what resolutions details etc

    TIA

it´s a pretty demanding game. The more shader processors the better this game runs. Runs like ass on my 7800GTX go though, haven´t tried any lower resolutions though, but runs like a charm on my 8800GTX :)

I have an XPS M1710 with the go 7950GTX and performance for me is fairly poor, fair bit of stuttering. Lowering textures to medium helped a bit, but I can only just manage 1280X800 all settings medium and full post processing effects.

    Hi!

I downloaded it, but didn't try it yet...

I guess the performance will be one thing which is improved in the final game. Maybe also the parts which do not look that good now. Perhaps they add some more objects, lights etc.

    Greets

PS: Yes. I'm also not very happy that all these games are from allied perspective, but as a German, you don't have another choice than playing these games if you want a WWII game. I think, german game programmers still do not dare to make a WWII game which is from german perspective. I guess this would end in trouble somehow.

I rather play as german than american. I´m swedish myself, but is so sick of playing as allies. Why not play as a kick ass german soldier instead, since the germans were indeed kick ass and kicked the allies but for a long time.

There were no army better than the german during WWII in terms of discipline and fighting skill. Americans pfffft!

Yh I know what you mean. After completing my History degree i couldnt belive how the Americans were being made in every game/movie as the main guys that brought WW2 to an end but there were soo many more nationalities-Indians, Africans, even Egyptions who made bigger sacrifices and knew they were walking into certain death. Dear God im sick of Hollywood and there bullsh*t along with game developers who are too scared of societies reaction to a game from the Germans perspective.

The German soldiers were literally brainwashed into thinking they were the ones in the right, and that they were the good side, yet many still depict them as non-stop killing machines.

I really hope the next "big" WWII game will let players play as germans. I would never depict being a german and playing against your own nation all the time :(

Ah well one could only hope. Nevertheless is this game really fun to play. I really like the non linear fighting.

I am a big medal of honor fan, but I thought it would never get old and I guess I was wrong. Even tho there are option to where you wanna attack it is still very linear and according to the demo the enemy is retarded even on hard. I am disappointed in the demo but I heard you are going to drop every time you do a mission, is all of those drops going to be quiet or explosive like the demo? I would buy this game due to the medal of honor fanboy in me but I would wait till it is 20 dollars tho...

I thought the demo was amazing. The graphics looked incredible. On my system in my sig I had it on Full settings at 1280x800 and it ran beautifully, a few slow downs in highly populated areas but that was fine. I thought the actual gameplay mechanics looked superb like the motion blur and player movement. It definately added a level of realism to the genre which I haven't seen before. While I really enjoyed COD2 the graphics and gameplay of Airborne for me are much better seeing you can drop in anywhere meaning it is totally non-linear. You create the story with your actions like a soldier would as opposed to have it scripted beforehand like in a COD game.

I always wanted to play a World war 2 game as an german soilder for a long time now! I really think the game would be very dramactic because you would lose your close friends on that game and such
