I'm getting flicker in the background (grassy areas only) on the opposing teams' move phase, when their characters move, the grassy areas flicker like crazy. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

    Thanks in advance.

Update your drivers and patch the game?
Other than that, the only thing I can think of is that you are lacking in the RAM department. Either your RAM can't hold enough textures, or your VRAM is overflowing into main RAM and pushing some stuff into disk cache. Maybe if you could outline full system specifications we'd have an easier time helping you out.

Thanks. It's the C2D T5470 1.6ghz (800 fsb), 2 gb ram, GeForceGo 8600M GT 256mb graphics card, 120 gb 5400 rpm hd. Just got the machine in today, actually ... I was one of the first to get my hands on the Vostro 1500.

Erm... seems like you have enough RAM. If you just picked up the Dell today, you might want to try updating the graphics card drivers from either Dell's official support site, or laptopvideo2go.com. Other than that, the 2GB of RAM seems like it would be sufficient. I'm frankly baffled. The only other thing I can think of is the possiblity that you are using Robson Turbo Memory, but I don't think the Dells can be configured with this. You might want to try googling something like "Medieval II Geforce 8600M GT Grass Flicker" and see if you find people with similar problems. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, and good luck resolving this issue.

Thanks, SotS. Will try. Possibly a Vista (insufficient driver issue) issue, I'm "guessing" ... should've gotten xp, lol.
