I'm talking about the first installation and not medieval 2. Just Curious to why the "END TURN" loading and mouse scroll in campaign mode runs faster on my older dell inspiron 8200 1GB memory and 64 bit card vs my 9300 with 2GB memory, the lastest 6800 go dell drivers xp home with all updates.
Both systems are tweaked to run bare min when it comes to processes, backround stuff, no virus etc. Right now my CPU usages stay between 0-2% on my 9300.
My screen resolution on my 9300 is 1400 by 900. The game run on 1024x768 and everything seems stretched in campaign mode unlike on my 8200.
Any ideas?

anybody?

Isn't the 6800 Go an IGP? If that's the case even a 64-bit dedicated card offers better perofrmance.

NO the 6800 go is 256 dedicated. The graphics on my 9300 look 10 times better and run perfect in battle mode but on campaign mode everything run slower at end turn. The mouse cursor also moves slower with my 9300 on the campaign map.

Does your 9300 by any chance have a better processor than the 8200? I'm surprised the CPU isn't being used much even though the total war series likes CPU power.
My mistake with the 6800, but what exactly was the 64-bit card in your 8200?
